Question 1 of 10
1. I can whinge and whine along with the very best, and to be honest when I first arrived I was considered a right pest. Still, even though I often annoyed those I held dear, my question to you is, when exactly did I first appear? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. Before I made my appearance as the super Slayer's little sis, those who watched carefully should have spotted something amiss. Still, though there was plenty to suggest that I was on my way, it's understandable that many missed it for my name lends itself to cliché. A restless Tara gave you all one pretty big tip, but which of the following pairings' dream dialogue really let it slip? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. Even though my sister's a super hero, I'm kind of special too. At least I was in my first season, when I caused a major hullabaloo. In hindsight, I know that I could have been better behaved, but I was chased by an individual who was seriously depraved. She claimed I belonged to her, and treated me as prey. But what name did she give me, which is the same as something you may use every day? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Like my big sister Buffy, I've had my fair share of troubles with boys. Indeed despite my best intentions I've never managed to escaped unscathed or with poise. I had a little crush on Xander, which everyone seemed to know about, and then along came RJ, who made me totally freak out. Yet the most embarrassing incident involves my first kiss. But what exactly was it about him, which made me want to sink into a bottomless abyss? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. When Glory appeared in Sunnydale, she had only one thing on her mind; use me to open a portal, and leave everything else behind. She reveled in destruction, and fed upon the weak. She not only enjoyed the slaughter, but relished every single shriek. It was obvious from the first encounter that she was something completely new. But what exactly was this one, who even my sister found it difficult to outdo? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. Considering all that's happened, I'm surprised I've made it through. For every bad thing that's occurred, somehow I've started anew. Still death and destruction have left their mark upon my fragile heart. I've lost so much, and miss so many of those who had to depart. My mother and sister both succumbed to whatever lies on the other side. But what were the words the latter shared with me, moments before she died? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. When Buffy was first resurrected my sorrow abated a bit. But this changed as soon as it became clear that all she really wanted to do was quit. You see I didn't understand why she resented saving me all the time, and this was something that came to a head in an episode full of rhyme. By now I had become distant, even turning to crime to fill the void. But can you remember what it was I did which made everyone else so annoyed? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. The First Evil was the hardest of all bosses to defeat, and my first brush with this antagonist was certainly no treat. While home alone it attacked me in the most cruel and inhumane way, by making me believe my lost loved one was going to be its next prey. Amidst the chaos and destruction I stayed strong and fought back, but who was it I was so desperate to protect from the First's attack? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. There was one memorable occasion when it seemed I'd become special for the second time, and though it didn't last long, it was nice to have partners in crime. The Potential Slayers were so impressive, and I envied them so. I thought I'd become one when a ball of light smacked me into the door. But it was not to be I'm afraid; that honour belonged to another young thing. But who was this young girl who proved to have the stronger wing? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. Leading up to the end, Buffy did all she could to make me leave town. She even got Xander to drug me, in an attempt to make me miss what went down. But unfortunately for her, I'd learned a thing or two from good old big sis, and so the end was not something that I was willing to miss. But did I really go against her wishes? Am I telling the truth? It's up to you dear quiz-taker. Do you believe the words of this youth?

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I can whinge and whine along with the very best, and to be honest when I first arrived I was considered a right pest. Still, even though I often annoyed those I held dear, my question to you is, when exactly did I first appear?

Answer: Season 5

Dawn Summers made her debut in the fifth season of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". The very first episode of this season showed Buffy and the Scoobies battling the infamous Count Dracula, who had arrived in Sunnydale with the sole intention of making Buffy one of his concubines. Just as this enthralling episode drew to a close, viewers were shocked to see a young girl in Buffy's bedroom, rifling through her things. Joyce Summers could then be heard ordering Buffy to take her sister with her, causing the two sisters to respond in unison, with an outraged, "Mom!"

Answer: Buffy and Faith

While many viewers were baffled by the sudden appearance of Dawn Summers, for many die-hard fans, the various "hints" dropped in previous seasons finally began to make sense. In episode fifteen of season four, a dream sequence, involving Buffy and Faith showed the duo making a bed. Faith commented that "Little sis is coming", prompting Buffy to respond with, "So much to do before she gets here". In addition to this, the final episode of the season, entitled "Restless", had Tara warning Buffy to "be back before dawn".

Indeed for many fans of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", the appeal of the show lies in the often intricate ways in which its creator, Joss Whedon, foreshadowed certain events. The Buffy/ Dawn story is just one of many that Whedon hinted at, throughout the show's seven seasons. Back in season three, Whedon hinted at Willow's future lesbian relationships, by presenting the vampire-Willow from an alternative reality as exhibiting homosexual tendencies. Alternative reality Willow also had a tendency to repeat the words, "Bored Now", which foreshadowed her future transformation into Dark Willow, (season six), when she would again utter those bone chilling words, during her attempts to destroy the world.

Answer: Key

During Dawn's very first season, viewers quickly learned that she had been transformed from her original state, into a human being. Rather than being born human, Dawn's original state was as a ball of powerful mystical energy. Indeed as the season unfolded, it transpired that in an attempt to stop this energy from falling into the wrong hands, a group of monks transformed it, and sent it to the Slayer, in the form of a sister.

However a very powerful and dangerous individual needed this energy to help them return home. Labeling it "the key", this individual was determined to get her hands on it, thus putting Dawn in grave danger.

Answer: He was a vampire

Like her older sister, poor old Dawn was very unlucky in love. One Halloween, along with a school friend of hers, she spent the night "hanging out" with two boys, who later turned out to be vampires. Dawn only discovered this fact after she had kissed one of them, a vampire named Justin. When he then tried to kill her, she was forced to stake him.

Answer: A god

When Buffy first encountered Glory, (also known as Glorificus), viewers saw their hero being severely beaten by the newcomer. All Buffy could do during their first encounter was escape from the building, which was collapsing around them. From that moment on it was obvious that Glory was unlike anything else that had previously been seen in Sunnydale. In a discussion with Giles, Buffy expressed her fears, admitting that "twice now I've let myself get within slaying distance of Glory, and twice she's kicked my ass without ever tensing a muscle."

Indeed it was not until the Watchers' Council came to visit, (in the episode entitled "Checkpoint"), that Buffy and the Scoobies received any concrete information about Glory. As the whole gang listened in silence, Quentin Travers informed them that Glory was in fact a hell-god, who was exiled after becoming too powerful for the deities she shared power with. She was banished to the earthly dimension, where she was forced to co-habit the body of a child named Ben.

Answer: The hardest thing in this world is to live in it. Be brave. Live. For me.

During season five's finale episode, Buffy sacrificed herself to save her sister, after a drop of Dawn's blood broke down the walls to all other dimensions, unleashing Armageddon. Knowing that the monks made Dawn out of Buffy's own essence, Buffy realised that she could take Dawn's place. Turning to her sister, Buffy told her that she loved her, and informed her that she would now have to take care of their friends. Telling Dawn to "be strong", Buffy whispered that "the hardest thing in this world is to live in it", before urging her sister to "Be brave. Live. For me." After saying these final words, Buffy turned and jumped off the top of the tower, into the portal below.

Answer: Stole from a variety of stores, including the Magic Shop

When Buffy was first resurrected, she was a changed person. For starters, she was forced to claw her way out of her own coffin, which was traumatic enough. But what none of her friends knew until the musical episode, (apart from Spike), was that she had been in heavenly dimension, and not a hellish one, as Willow, Tara, Anya and Xander had previously thought.

This made adjusting to life again very difficult, and Buffy spent many episodes struggling to "survive". This had a knock-on effect on Dawn, who appeared to be struggling with abandonment issues, as well as a bad case of kleptomania. Dawn even made an accidental wish to a vengeance demon, which was when all of her issues were made clear to Buffy and her friends.

Answer: Joyce Summers

In the seventh episode of the final season of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", the First Evil visited Dawn while she was home alone. Alarmed by loud banging, Dawn went to look for its source, believing that is was her dead mother, Joyce, trying to make contact.

However when Dawn tried to communicate, she was confronted by a powerful gust of wind, which destroyed everything in her living room. Convinced that another force was trying to prevent her mother from communicating with her, Dawn attempted an exorcism in the middle of the growing chaos. Eventually the spirit of her mother appeared, informing her that "Buffy will not choose you.

She will be against you." However it was later revealed to be the work of the First Evil, who, despite being non-corporeal, was able to take on the form of the dead.

Answer: Amanda

During the twelfth episode of the final season, entitled "Potential", Willow cast a spell intended to identify other Potential Slayers. At first the spell didn't appear to work, but when Dawn walked towards the front door, the ball of light hit her, indicating that it was she who was to be the next Potential Slayer.

However this was eventually proved not to be the case, as the real Potential had been outside the Summers' residence all along. Later on in the same episode Dawn discovered this fact, and willingly handed over her weapon to the new Potential, Amanda.

Answer: Yes

During the run up to the last ever episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", Buffy talked Xander into drugging Dawn, in order to ensure that the pair of them made it safely out of Sunnydale. However Buffy had underestimated her sister, who, upon waking up in the back of Xander's car, promptly shocked him with a stun gun and drove them both back to Sunnydale.

The next time Dawn and Buffy were together, the former kicked the latter, prompting Buffy to retort with "You get killed and I'm telling".
