Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. First off, on what date was the very first mission undertaken where SG 1 and 2 went to rescue Sha're and Skarra?

Answer: February 10

In the episode "Politics", the date was clearly stated as Col. Samuels was reading a report from the first mission to Chulak.
2. Who is considered to be the "queen bee" of the Goa'uld?

Answer: Hathor

According to Daniel in "Hathor", Hathor is the mother of all Goa'uld. Boy, what a responsibility! The other three are Goa'uld, but not considered as the mother of the symbiotes. Nirrti is the one who performed genetic tests, Osiris "infected" Daniel's girlfriend, Sarah, and Amonet was Apophis' queen/mate.
3. Who is the first Tok'ra SG-1 meets?

Answer: Jolinar

Yes, "In the Line of Duty" was the first episode to introduce a Tok'ra. The Tok'ra was named Jolinar, and it "infected" Captain Carter to survive. SG-1 had never met a Tok'ra, so they were suspicious that it was a Goa'uld with plans to attack Earth.
4. Who becomes the leader of the System Lords after his return from banishment from the System Lords a thousand years ago?

Answer: Anubis

Anubis was the one who became a power System Lord after his return, and many of the others decided to join him; however, there were a few that did not. Yu was one of the few, and he has been noted to be a little bit more conservative than others.
5. A little bit of behind-the-scenes for a moment. Who was the first "Star Trek" actor to play a role in "Stargate SG-1?"

Answer: Armin Shimmerman

All of the choices have played a part in "SG1", but Armin was the first. He played the Nox that helped SG-1 back to life and paved the way (on the Nox side) to diplomatic relations between the Nox and Earth.
6. What does SGC stand for in the series?

Answer: StarGate Command

SGC is the acronym for Stargate Command, while Sierra Gulf Charlie is the "code name" (so to speak) for the SGC on the radio and phones. Super Galatic Crossover is something I just made up.
7. What does NID stand for?

Answer: Nothing--it's just a fancy abbreviation the producers came up with

It really doesn't stand for anything. The producers just thought they needed a fancy abbreviation to make it sound official, like FBI (although FBI does stand for something). The NID is the civilian agency that is always trying to undermine the SGC and take over the gate. The most noted members of the NID were Col. Maybourne and Senator (turned Vice President) Kinsey.

Note: As of the end of Season 8, nothing has been said in the episodes to suggest there is a name that the acronym stands for. If something does come up, I will be more than happy to review it and change this answer if necessary. However, nothing is official unless it is said in the episodes, a movie, or official books of "Stargate".
8. One more acronym. What does UAV stand for?

Answer: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

UAV is a plane that can be remote-controlled from Earth, and it is useful in finding a team that is lost. It can also explore the planet a lot faster than a MALP or a team on foot can.
9. What is the designation of the planet of the first Alpha site?

Answer: P3X 984

This information is stated when Daniel comes back from the two Goa'uld ships that are attempting to destroy Earth in the beginning episode of the second season. He remembered that they were close enough to use Earth as a point of origin, but since he could not gate from an "Earth" gate to another on the same planet, he first had to gate to a different planet.
10. Who is the chief surgeon of the SGC prior to Dr. Frasier?

Answer: Dr. Warner

Dr. Warner introduced himself as the cheif surgeon to Major Kawalsky in "The Enemy Within." Although he was not a regular on the series, he has from time to time appeared, which means he's at least a recurring character.
