Barney was certainly a "sensitive soul", and it didn't take much to set him off.

The incorrect report card was due to Mrs. Crump's error, not a lie by Opie. Opie was actually saving his money to buy his girlfriend a much-needed coat. And Jubal's moonshine business started the fire. ("Jubal, Jubal, Jubal!")

This certainly happened many other times, but these are the ones I could recall. And of course the key, which was normally left hanging on the wall right outside the cells, always happened to be somewhere else. :-( So if you didn't see the key on the hook, you could guess what was coming next!
