Answer: Blenheim Palace

Winston came into the world eight months after his parents married. You do the math. One of the largest houses in England (located in Woodstock, Oxfordshire), much of Blenheim Palace is open to the public although the 11th Duke of Marlborough retains ownership. Winston's grandfather, John Spencer-Churchill, was the 7th Duke of Marlborough.
2. Churchill's father, Lord Randolph, was English. In which country was Churchill's mother born?

Answer: USA

His mother, Jennie Jerome, was born in Brooklyn and one of many American women to marry in to British aristocracy near the end of the 19th Century. According to her biographer Anne Sebba, Jennie's father was a speculator who lost fortunes as fast as he made them. Marrying Lord Randolph provided financial security.
3. How many of the four Great Offices of State did Churchill hold during his life?

Answer: 3

He was Home Secretary, Chancellor of the Exchequer, and Prime Minister. The fourth Great Office is Foreign Secretary.

He was a member of the Conservative Party from 1900-1904, the Liberal Party from 1904-1924, and returned to the Conservative Party from 1924-1964. In Churchill's own words upon returning to the Conservatives: "Anyone can rat, but it takes a certain amount of ingenuity to re-rat."

Churchill received the title in 1963. Other Honorary Citizens as of 2009 are: Raoul Wallenberg, William Penn, Hannah Callowhill Penn, and Mother Teresa.

Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de La Fayette (gotta love those French names!) fought with the Americans in the Revolutionary War and lobbied the French monarch, Louis XVI, to fund the American effort.
9. Since his father died young, Churchill thought he would as well. How old was Churchill when he died?

Answer: 90

Churchill died on January 24th, 1965, the same month and day as his father who died in 1895.

Churchill enjoyed a drink. This exchange between Churchill and White House butler Alonzo Fields during one of the Prime Minister's visits to Washington D.C. sums it up: "Now, Fields, we had a lovely dinner last night, but I have a few orders for you. We want to leave here as friends, right? So I need you to listen. One, I don't like talking outside my quarters; two, I hate whistling in the corridors; and three, I must have a tumbler of sherry in my room before breakfast, a couple of glasses of scotch and soda before lunch, and French champagne and 90-year-old brandy before I go to sleep at night."
