There have been 29 published (and one unpublished) books by Lilian Jackson Braun in "The Cat Who..." series, spanning 1966-2006. Yum Yum and her male friend Koko are Siamese cats who live with reporter Jim Qwilleran, and help him solve mysteries, both in the city and in rural Moose County.
Though Koko is more active in mystery-solving, I've used Yum Yum here to avoid confusion with Koko the gorilla (who would fit in Other) or the Australian film actor Koko, who's a dog.
