Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter originally formed this group.

Answer: KISS

KISS formed in New York City in 1973. This band immediately became well known for their visuals, specifically each band's unique makeup scheme and, internationally, even the band's iconography was quite notable; the original KISS logo, featuring lightning bolts for the two S-es, was banned in Germany due to looking like the Nazi SS symbol.
2. Anthony Perkins plays as Norman Bates in this movie.

Answer: Psycho

Anthony Perkins was in over forty movies, but none more terrifying. This movie helped to kick start Perkins' career as a director too, as he would reprise his role as Norman Bates for two added movies in the franchise, then became the director of "Psycho 3" in 1986.
3. A group of kids living in Colorado, experience hectic, chaotic, often reality-defying events.

Answer: South Park

South Park launched in late 1997 and quickly became a classic American comedy show. It features a cast of children as main characters, only the stark adult-rated content shown in the show contrasts with this greatly and frequently. The show would go on to use vulgar humor to implicitly comment on a myriad of modern social happenings of the day, and it very often includes real-world people interpreted as cartoons in the show as well.
4. The day to day lives of a yellow-skinned family in Springfield.

Answer: The Simpsons

This is one of, if not the single most iconic and well known animated comedy TV shows in TV history. Specifically, this show captured the record for the longest running American sitcom, forming in early 1989 and cruising into the 2020s in style, even releasing a brand new movie in 2026.
5. It starts out with a former police officer coping with the undead apocalypse and trying to find his family. It eventually ends many, many years later in a large, fiery explosion.

Answer: The Walking Dead

This show ran from 2010 to 2022, spanning eleven seasons. It is directly based on the comic book series of the same name written by Robert Kirkman. It is a relatively straightforward zombie apocalypse TV show, with a cast of characters who travels a great, far and wide deal, being relentlessly assaulted by the undead and by bad-faith humans who seek to capture, subjugate, kill and even worse.
6. A heavy metal band that formed right before the turn of the 21st century. Went on to produce many, many tracks, some which appeared in video games.

Answer: Avenged Sevenfold

Despite the band deriving its name from a biblical reference and was chosen by a Catholic man (Matt Shadows) after attending a Catholic school, this band is not inherently religious or based on any religion. With the tragic exception of Jimmy Sullivan, the band's drummer, the band remained in tact from as early on as when the members were teenagers.
7. An over-the-top independent comedy surrounding a small cluster of bumbling adventurers trying to locate the long lost Prima Doctrine.

Answer: Dragons on the Hill

This hour and a half long, mushroom-induced trip of a movie is a comedy adventure film. It is based during the Bubonic Plague era. Two adventurers, Bill and Sam, aim to retrieve a legal document by the name of the Prima Doctrine, a document which essentially can be used to prove their claim to land as the last surviving members of their family.
8. A legendary Pokémon awakens and threatens all of humanity, before it is eventually talked down by its rival, a Mythical Pokémon.

Answer: Mewtwo Strikes Back

Officially known as "Pokémon: The First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back", this movie is unique for being released in a slightly different way to Japanese audiences, compared to those in the West. Specifically, this movie had a roughly ten minute long prequel, delving into Mewtwo's childhood in a lab, cut entirely for Western audiences due to it being thought of as too dark for children.

Other than that, though, this movie was a massive financial and cultural success everywhere it was released. It previously held the record for the highest grossing opening weekend for an animated film in the US before this record was finally shattered in 2018 by "Incredibles 2".
9. One of the longest running television shows in all of history. A drama TV show based in Salem, Massachusetts.

Answer: Days of Our Lives

This show premiered in late 1965, and would continue past its 60th season into the 2020s in style. This show made history as one of the first daytime TV shows to be broadcast entirely in color.
10. American heavy metal band that formed in the 1980s.

Answer: Metallica

This band was officially founded in 1981 by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. This band has been famously rigid towards the use of their material without expressed consent, even going as far as to write a 'cease and desist' notice to the White House in the United States, of all people/places. It's no wonder, as the band has gone on to produce many, many bangers over the years.
