Here are the countries that lie entirely south of the equator, alongside their northernmost point and latitude:
Bolivia, whose northernmost point is Manoa at 09°40′S. Bolivia is a landlocked nation in South America, bordered to the north and east by Brazil, by Paraguay and Argentina to the south, and by Chile and Peru to the west. Bolivia's territory does not extend far enough north to reach the equator.
Comoros, whose northernmost point is Pointe Nord, Grande Comore at 11°22′S. The Comoros Islands are located in the Indian Ocean, between the northern tip of Madagascar and the coast of Mozambique. The equator passes just north of the archipelago nation. The northernmost island, Grande Comore (Ngazidja), lies just south of the Equator, at about 11° South latitude.
Madagascar, whose northernmost point is Cap D'Ambre at 11°57′S, has its southernmost point at Cape Sainte Marie lying at 25°37' S, making the entire island nation entirely below the equator, roughly 400 kilometers east of Mozambique in the Indian Ocean.
Mozambique, whose northernmost point is Cape Delgado at 10°27′S, near the Rovuma River bordering Tanzania in Africa, while its southernmost point reaches about 27° S. Being near the equator, combined with its position in the Southern Hemisphere, gives Mozambique a mostly tropical climate.
Nauru, whose northernmost point is Anna Point at 00°30′S, is a small island nation in the Southern Hemisphere, just a short distance from the equator (about 26 miles). Nauru is a former German, Japanese, and Australian mandate (independent since 1968); it is the world's smallest island nation and third-smallest republic by land area.
Samoa, whose northernmost point is Fagamalo, Savai'I at 13°25′S. This Polynesian island nation is located in the South Pacific Ocean, and is composed of two main islands (Upolu and Savai'i) and eight smaller islets. Approximately 1,534 km (953 miles) south of the equator, its southernmost point is 14°05'S on Nu'ulua islet.
Seychelles, whose northernmost point is Bird Island at 03°43′S. Seychelles is an island country in the western Indian Ocean, an archipelago stretching roughly between 4° and 10° south latitude, so all of its more than 100 islands are in the Southern Hemisphere. Seychelles has a tropical, near equatorial climate: warm and humid year round with only small seasonal temperature changes. Its capital, Victoria (on Mahé), is at about 4.6°S, and its southernmost point, (Goëlettes island in the Farquhar Atoll) is at 10°13'S.
Solomon Islands, whose northernmost point is Pelau, Ontong Java at 05°13′S. This island nation is situated northeast of Australia and east of Papua New Guinea in the South Pacific Ocean. It is an archipelago of six major islands and over 900 smaller islands. The southernmost point is on Rennell Island (11°40' South, the island's southern tip), which is part of the Rennell and Bellona Province.
Uruguay, whose northernmost point is Quarai River south of Dirceu Barcelos at 30°05′S. Uruguay is the second-smallest country in South America and is the only nation on the continent completely south of the Tropic of Capricorn. It borders Argentina to the west along the Uruguay River, Brazil to the north and northeast, the Atlantic Ocean to the southeast, and the Río de la Plata estuary to the south, with the southernmost point on the mainland at Punta del Este, located at approximately 34°58' S latitude.
Vanuatu, whose northernmost point is Torres Islands, Torba Province at 13°07′S. Its southernmost point is on Aneityum Island, at 20°15' S. It is an archipelago nation with about 65 of its 80 islands inhabited. The islands span about 1,300 kilometers northeast to southwest between the Solomon Islands and New Caledonia.
Zambia, whose northernmost point is Cape Peke on the shore of Lake Tanganyika at 08°12′S. It is a landlocked country in southern Africa, bordered by the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, and Angola. Its southernmost point is along the border with Zimbabwe (Kalomo District, Southern Province) at 18°05' S.
And these are the countries listed that are NOT entirely south of the equator:
Belize, located in Central America; its latitudes go between approximately 15°53' and 18°30' North.
Costa Rica-also in Central America, its latitudes are between about 8° and 12° North of the equator.
Democratic Republic of Congo, located in Africa, it is one of the few countries in the world where the equator passes directly through its territory, with latitudes from 5°30' North to 13°50' South.
Gabon-also in Africa, and also one of the countries in the world located directly on the equator, with latitudes from 1°00' N to 4°00' S.
Malaysia - despite being in Southeast Asia, Malaysia is entirely north of the equator, between latitudes approximately 1° and 7° North.
Micronesia - this island nation in the Western Pacific is located at latitudes from about 1°N at its southernmost point (Kapingamarangi Atoll) to 10°N in the north (Ulithi).
Maldives - this is an island nation, in the Indian Ocean, with some of its 26 atolls as far north as 7°6'30" N and some as far south as 0°42'30" S.
Uganda - here is yet another African country on the equator, with two-thirds of the country lying north of the equator and one-third south, approximately 4°12' N to 1°29' S.
