Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Down to Earth" - Barnaby Records

This album was one of just two recorded in Nashville. The other was "High Cumberland Jubilee".
2. "A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean" - ABC Records

"Grapefruit-Juicyfruit" was the highest charting single, hitting number 23 on the Billboard US Adult Contemporary chart. It also had the first mention of The Coral Reefer Band in the liner notes.
3. "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes" - ABC Records

Released in 1977. This album climbed all the way to number two on the Billboard Country Album chart.
4. "Son of a Son of a Sailor" - ABC Records

This album also brought us the legendary track 'Cheeseburger in Paradise'.
5. "Somewhere Over China" - MCA

Released in 1982. The song 'It's Midnight and I'm Not Famous Yet' charted on an obscure Billboard 'Rock Tracks' chart. It never made it on the Hot 100.
6. "One Particular Harbor" - MCA

This one was released in 1983. His cover of 'Brown Eyed Girl' was the highest charting single. It made it to number 13 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. The craziest thing I discovered was that 'Stars on the Water' made it onto the soundtrack of the 1993 movie "The Firm".
7. "Hot Water" - MCA

Released in 1988. This was my first Buffett concert. I got to see him on Fire Island in NYC.
8. "Off To See The Lizard" - MCA

Five tracks from this album were turned into short stories in his 1989 book, "Tales from Margaritaville". They were 'Take Another Road' , 'Off to See the Lizard' , 'Boomerang Love' , 'The Pascagoula Run', 'I Wish Lunch Could Last Forever'.
9. "Fruitcakes" - Margaritaville/MCA Records

Released in 1994. Lots of cool covers are on this album. 'Uncle John's Band' was from the Grateful Dead. 'Sunny Afternoon' was from The Kinks. 'She's Got You' was released as a single by Patsy Cline.
10. "Banana Wind" - Margaritaville/MCA Records

Released in 1996. This album had the song 'Jamaica Mistaica'. It told the story of Jimmy and Bono (yes, that Bono) getting shot at by the Jamaican police. They were in Jimmy's seaplane, travelling to get some chicken and were mistaken as a 'Ganja Plane'.
11. "Beach House on the Moon" - Margaritaville/Island Records

Released in 1999. Jimmy told the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) to 'Get a sense of humor' after they publicly asked him to apologize for the song ' Math Suks'.
12. "Far Side of the World" - Mailboat Records

Released in 2002. This was the first album released on Jimmy's label 'Mailboat Records'.

Released in 2004. This album hit number one on the Billboard 200 album chart.
14. "Songs you Don't Know By Heart" - Mailboat Records

Released posthumously in 2023. This was the final project of a legendary traveler on our 'Trip Around the Sun'.
