Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "When I Find Love"

Answer: XYZ

XYZ was a hard rock band based in France that saw limited success in the United States in the late 1980s and early 1990s. On their 1991 album "Hungry", XYZ's second album, came the rock love song "When I Find Love".
2. "Foolish Love"

Answer: Lord Tracy

Lord Tracy was a somewhat supergroup that consisted of Terry Glaze from Pantera as lead singer and members of Black Oak Arkansas. Their 1989 debut album had two singles, the rocker "Out With The Boys" and the power ballad "Foolish Love". The band didn't make it big together but "Foolish Love" is one of those hidden treasure tracks from the decade.
3. "Believe In Love"

Answer: Scorpions

The final track on Scorpions' 1988 album "Savage Amusement" was the power ballad, "Believe In Love". Lead singer Klaus Meine took the listeners on a vocal roller coaster with the two lead singles "Rhythm of Love" and "Believe In Love". Each song was later added to the German rockers' greatest hits album "Best of Rockers n Ballads".
4. "Love Is On The Way"

Answer: Saigon Kick

Technically "Love Is On The Way" wasn't an 80s power ballad, it was released in 1992. But the sound and style captured that magical era beautifully. Saigon Kick was based out of Florida and their second album was a straight ahead rocker. The one ballad, "Love Is On The Way" was the group's signature song and reached number twelve on the Billboard Hot 100.
5. "Love On The Rocks"

Answer: Poison

Poison's second album, "Open Up And Say Ahh", was the biggest moment of their career. The hits on the release included "Every Rose Has A Thorn", "Nothin' But A Good Time", and "Fallen Angel". But dig a little deeper and you'd find two rock songs with "love" in the title. "Love On The Rocks" and "Good Love" were album tracks that were featured on their endless tours of the 1980s.
6. "Ten Seconds To Love"

Answer: Motley Crue

California rockers Motley Crue broke through with the band's second album "Shout At The Devil". In addition to hits like the title track, "Looks That Kill", and "Too Young To Fall In Love", the underrated "Ten Seconds To Love" was a fan favorite. Motley Crue opened for Ozzy Osbourne in support of the album.
7. "Falling In And Out Of Love"

Answer: Femme Fatale

Lorraine Lewis was the lead singer for Femme Fatale in the 1980s. The band's "Falling In And Out Of Love" was the lead single from their only album and became a hit on MTV. The band broke up and Lorraine became a member of the all-female band Vixen after leaving Femme Fatale.
8. "Love Bites"

Answer: Def Leppard

How many Def Leppard songs topped the Billboard Hot 100? One, "Love Bites" in 1988. The big power ballad on the "Hysteria" album was brought to the band by producer Mutt Lang. Lead singer Joe Elliott shined on the band's follow-up single to the rocker "Pour Some Sugar On Me".
9. "Make Love Last"

Answer: Bad English

Bad English's debut album was the supergroup's big moment in the spotlight. But the power ballad, "Make Love Last" on their second album "Backlash" showcased John Waite's voice in a powerful way. The band's lineup also included Neil Schon and Jonathan Cain from Journey.
10. "Love Song"

Answer: Tesla

Make a list of the best power ballads of the Hair Metal era and Tesla's "Love Song" is high on the list. The song reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 and dominated MTV in 1989. The music video featured the band in concert at their hometown in Sacramento, California.
