Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Mr. Phibes invites thirteen men to the Apollyon, serving them which of these as a gift?

Answer: Cookies

A group of thirteen men in their early twenties find themselves at the Apollyon, most of them gathered in Mr. Nas' luxurious sitting room, invited there from a message on SeekingArrangements.com. They presume they're there to sleep with someone, believing it's a money-making activity, possibly at the cost of some of their dignity.

Mr. Phibes is the one to greet them all, emerging with a covered tray and talking about the changes in kink culture over the decades. He encourages the men to think of the night as a slumber party, tells them to have fun, and serves them milk and cookies.
2. Mr. Phibes is dismissed by Mr. Nas before he hits the age of 100.

Answer: True

Mr. Phibes checks in on Mr. Nas once he's served the men their cookies (laced with crystal meth), setting his mysterious machines into motion while screams ring out in the sitting room. The device continues to tick upwards, tracking the old man's age to the nearly-round 99.9 years. So close.

And the thirteen men he brought over, those were what pushed Nas' age right to where it needed to be. That, of course, and the witches he killed. It was a gift to his Dark Lord, meant to help in Constance's absence.

The young manifestation of Nas meets Phibes at this time, thanking him for his service but ultimately dismissing him; his work is done. Unfortunately, Phibes' plan with the thirteen men hit a snag.
3. Who is ultimately responsible for destroying Mr. Nas' physical body?

Answer: Satan

When Satan found Phibes' thirteen men on the verge of death in the sitting room, he made the conscious choice to cure one of their pains and let them go, allowing them to flee the building and stop Phibes' plan short. This was with intent though.

The younger Devil instead uses his powers to rip the throat out of the older Mr. Nas, killing him without letting him reach the century, much to Phibes' shock; they were on the edge of making the world he wanted. The truth is, however, that Satan has other dimensions. He tears Phibes' head clean off with the flick of a wrist and then tosses it into the fireplace, assuring that everything he wants, he'll get in Hell.
4. Cordelia's personal Hell turns out to involve which of the following?

Answer: Euthanizing animals

Cordelia finds herself in an animal pound with Nan, a former member of her coven, present to assist her. In the operating room, she tries to sleep but she's forced to keep working, her task in Hell being to euthanize dogs. The task pains her greatly, forcing her to contend with tragedy at her own hand.

She is allowed to stop, however, when Satan arrives before her and lets her conclude her endless shift at the kill shelter. While he may have delighted in placing her there, he's come with another purpose, asking her to kneel (which she refuses outright). Instead, she settles for his advice to close her eyes, and when she reopens them, she finds that she's been teleported back to the earthly plane on a sunny day.
5. Satan removes Cordelia from Hell and gives her which of these, claiming it's her inheritance?

Answer: His apartment

Bringing Cordelia back to life in a sunny park, Satan motions for her to sit down on the bench next to him for a chat. He admits that he's not sure what he ever saw in Earth; he doesn't want it anymore. Instead, he wanted something simple for his upcoming hundredth birthday: an end to 'the game'. Managing humans-- billions of them-- would be awful. He enjoys being a menace in Hell. All of this was a satanic midlife crisis.

Satan knows that Cordelia would never have, otherwise, gotten out of Hell without him, so he does have that over her head. She refuses to give him the satisfaction of confirming that he won in any case, but he leaves her with the reminder that the world is more fun with chaos in it; evil is more insidious than a simple win.

And more than that-- since Cordelia is his granddaughter, he knows she'll be wrestling with demons forever. He sends her on her way, back to her coven, but hands over the keys to his place in the Apollyon, claiming that it's a good inheritance. Maybe someday, he'll come back when she least expects it.
6. Believing that there should be only one Supreme in their time, Mallory uses which of these to travel back in time?

Answer: Tempus Infinituum

No more than seconds after Satan parts ways with Cordelia does she encounter Queenie who, despite having been killed by Tate Langdon, has returned in the flesh. Ben, as it turned out, survived the night at the Apollyon and descended into Hell to retrieve her. She asks if Cordelia fixed everything, but Cordelia isn't sure that they actually won. All that matters is they haven't yet lost. They might have to fight it forever, but at least they still have time.

When Cordelia returns to the Apollyon she finds Mallory chanting in one of the rooms inside, half-plunged into a bathtub, ready to cast Tempus Infinituum. There's knowledge, she says, scattered across time, and perhaps some of it can end Satan for good. Besides, there should only be one Supreme in the timeline.

Cordelia begs, but Mallory vanishes.
7. Which witch does Satan use as a vessel for his new descendant?

Answer: Madison

After spending the night, Madison and Ben both feel uneasy, and it's an almost instant panic when the two see what the Devil has in store for them. Within moments of realizing that they had to contend with a broken condom, Madison felt the stirrings of something supernatural growing inside her-- a demon child manifesting inside a witch host. Within minutes she gave birth to Ben's baby, barely surviving the rushed birth.

The two were more distressed when Satan, himself, arrived to bring the baby into the world, ushering in a new descendant of Satan. This one, he said, could be a redemption; all of his others had flaws. Handing the child over to the new parents, he set his new plan in motion like a runaway train.
8. Mallory derives knowledge of a new, powerful spell by spending time in which era?

Answer: 17th-century America

While the witches get used to using the Apollyon apartment as a new satellite home, Cordelia writes to Mallory, hoping that it reaches her in the future. Things have changed in her absence. Some of the coven remains in New Orleans, where Fiona Goode teaches her sister, Constance, how to unlock her magic capabilities. Most of Cordelia's witches rebuild the Apollyon and grow their numbers in a new city.

One day, while gazing into the bathtub where Mallory disappeared, travelling through time, Cordelia is present for Mallory's unexpected return. She made her way back to Salem, stopping the witch trials and helping their ancestors burn the wicked, and in doing so, she discovered a new spell. There, dancing under the maples with their Salem sisters, she was taught a spell from Sarah Goode. It would cost one person more than they could be willing to pay, however-- the ultimate sacrifice.
9. Who, according to Cordelia, is the thirteenth Antichrist?

Answer: Ben

Setting up in the sitting room, Cordelia and Mallory begin their chant and summon Ben directly to them, shunting him into their ritual and informing him, point-blank, that they need him to help save the world; he's the only one who can help them because he's the son of Satan. There have been twelve others before him, but he is the thirteenth in a long line of Antichrists (including Attila the Hun, Napoleon, and Hitler), the most powerful of them all. Ben offers to do anything, but the truth is that he can only succeed in stopping Satan if he ends his existence, giving up everything to save humanity.

Ben is hesitant, finally having gotten what he wants-- true love and a daughter-- but this is the ultimate sacrifice. It's a refusal of everything Satan stands for, but by destroying himself, he destroys that power. Cordelia and Mallory assure him that it will be hard, but Madison will understand the necessity. Worse, it needs to be done immediately, before Satan catches on.

Ben ultimately decides that he must follow through to keep his daughter safe, allowing her to grow up in a better world. Of course, as soon as he agrees, Satan figures it out.
10. Cordelia and Mallory are successful in performing the ritual to stop Satan, sealing their sacrifice away in which of these for eternity?

Answer: A painting

As Satan arrives to stop the witches from executing their plan, Cordelia and Mallory combine the powers of the Supremes in their single timeline, remedying their mistakes by finally putting an end to his evil. The only way to stop him, forever, is by using the Vinculis spell, chaining the soul to something it truly desires. Satan can't resist being looked at and admired, and for this vanity, his soul craves being seen as a masterpiece.

Ben grabs the sacrificial dagger, says his piece to his father, and acts fast, spilling his blood as a symbol of all that is righteous and good while the witches hold Satan's physical form to the painting of "The Last Supper" on the sitting room wall. The magic forces Satan's form into the artwork, taking the seat of Judas at the table. They will have to keep watch of the masterpiece forever, but the Devil is sealed away and the world is safe again.
