Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who bears the news that Fiona has a twin sister?

Answer: Myrtle

Reunited, Myrtle and Fiona spend time in the sitting room. After lighting Fiona's cigarette for her, Myrtle notes she expected more than a weak hug upon seeing each other. No matter, though. Myrtle returns to Miss Robichaux's, back from the dead, with news. It turns out that Fiona has an identical twin sister who, as it happens, is the spitting image of her. And more than that, they're both the daughters of the Devil.

Fiona is shocked that it's the first time she's heard any of this and takes it out on a smug Myrtle, glibly apologizing but getting little remorse from her old friend.
2. Fiona's mother, Sister Jude, met the Devil in which unexpected location?

Answer: An asylum

Fiona is surprised by the news of an identical twin, but finds it concerning that she never discovered anything substantial about her parents' histories. Myrtle has answers here as well, noting that the Goode family's forbearers were amongst the first women imprisoned in Salem. Though Fiona's true father was Lucifer, her mother was actually a woman of God by the name of Sister Jude.

Jude used to run an asylum in Massachusetts during her later years though she was imprisoned there during a calamity that occurred in the 1960s. It was during this imprisonment that she was met not by her saviour, Christ, but by the Devil, who spoke to her and entered her chambers in the form of Mr. Nas.
3. Judy Martin had two children, one of whom would be raised in Virginia. The other would be brought where?

Answer: New Orleans

Nas, who appeared in Jude's doorway, unnerved her; she realized who he was immediately and donned the habit she kept under her pillow, praying to keep him away. The problem was that he'd sensed the sins that plagued her. He compelled her though, promising her that he would provide her with health, mirth, and if she was lucky, a birth.

It was a desperate attempt on Satan's part, especially since Judy Martin was years past the start of menopause. She had two girls, one of whom became the youngest woman deposited into Miss Robichaux's Academy in her infancy.

Fiona worries that the world is ending, and they risk letting three centuries of the Salem line die with Cordelia as Supreme. She refuses to die unless it's on her feet. Myrtle has another plan though, and taking her into the next room, she introduces Fiona to her sister, Constance Langdon.
4. Who, of these, does Constance claim was responsible for sending Fiona away from her birthplace?

Answer: Pepper

Initially, neither Fiona nor Constance can believe that they have a sister, let alone a twin. Both of them take a seat at the same table and try to explain the situation that caused their lives to deviate so much-- while one was sold, by a criminal, to a couple in Virginia, the other was left at Briarcliff and then brought to Miss Robichaux's by a young asylum patient by the name of Pepper.

Constance acknowledges that she always thought she had a little magic in her, casting spells with a sly glance, but Fiona has her beat. Nonetheless, both of them come from a lineage of true witches. Finally, there's a missing part in her life that seems to have been restored.
5. Fiona believes that reuniting with Constance may have been intentional, and a reason to allow her to do what?

Answer: Teach her magic

Constance has to note that she's suffered over the years, bearing the weight of fate on her back while Fiona was dropped off in the lap of luxury to nurture her gifts and rule over New Orleans. She never received an ounce of witchcraft or magic from their mother.

Fiona believes that this may be the chance to spark that ability within her sister. It could be why they were brought together. She offers to at least try to teach her a few tricks.

With that, the pair ascend the stairs and get to work.
6. Marie Laveau sets about combining black and white magic via which means?

Answer: A potion

Cordelia receives the truth about the whole situation from, of all people, Marie Laveau, who reveals that neither Fiona nor Myrtle were willing to let her know that her grandfather is, in fact, the Devil. Marie suggests that Cordelia just move forward; she needs to accept every part of who she is, ugly bits and all. More than that, Marie needs Cordelia to help her out, finishing a potion boiling away in a pot on the kitchen table.

Once Cordelia breathes in the power of the strange brew, she realizes that they have something powerful. The problem, as Marie notes, is that it'll take a few more hours to finish. Ben will interrupt at that point, saying they don't have hours. With Mr. Nas nearly reaching 100 years old, their time is essentially up. Marie and Ben have choice words for each other, but Marie knows she's right, especially since she's combining black and white magic as they speak. There is something he can do to help though.
7. Ben proves his worth to Marie Laveau by bringing who back from beyond the veil?

Answer: Queenie

Though Ben is impatient, he still has powers, and Marie offers him the choice of either getting herbs from the greenhouse to help make her potion or retrieving Queenie, who would be vital to helping her speed up the process. Queenie, having been traded to Papa Legba for Marie's resurrection, is still trapped in her personal Hell. All he needs to do is use his privilege to break her out past Legba.

It's not hard for Ben. He barges through the crowd in her fried chicken restaurant, offers to spring her from her prison, and brings her back to Miss Robichaux's in short order. It's the first opportunity for Marie and Queenie to reunite since the Voodoo Queen's death years ago.
8. It is possible to draw the Devil's lifeforce into one's self and cast it to Hell using which of these items?

Answer: A red thread

Marie brings the others into the sitting room to lay out the plan, claiming that in order to defeat the Devil, you must first strike at his soul, and every soul has two parts. The potion she's created loosens those two parts from one another.

She recommends letting Ben take Cordelia and Queenie into Satan's apartment in the Apollyon. In the Devil's bedroom, they can pluck a hair from his head, drop it into the vial until it sizzles black, then tip it into his mouth until he drinks it all down. Then, Cordelia can suck the spirit from his mouth, stripping the Devil of his years, de-aging him before their very eyes. He'll be left as nothing but a baby.

The lifeforce could corrupt Cordelia if left inside her, so the task falls to Queenie to remove it, drawing it into her own body and hiding it within her. Then, she will take a red thread, call upon the spirits, and stitch it at a crossroads in her palm. With the last stitch, her bones will crack, but she will be able to send the Devil's years to Hell. He'll be trapped as a baby for eternity and he will not inherit his Earthly kingdom.
9. Marie Laveau acknowledges that her de-aging plan has a time limit of one hundred years before it must be performed again.

Answer: False

Marie leaves the others with one last concern. Although the Devil will not take over the world if they follow through with the plan, he will remain a baby for eternity, and it will fall to the coven, as their duty to watch over the child as a sworn duty. The evil can stop with the coven.

In New York City, Cordelia and Queenie walk along the riverside and dream of the freedom that they can finally have when they complete their task. Once Satan is gone, humans could give in to better nature; Cordelia believes that they could end evil. It's a lofty dream, but she wants to believe it because she's scared of the fight before them.
10. Who, of these, kills Cordelia when she attempts to defeat Mr. Nas?

Answer: Mr. Phibes

When Cordelia and Queenie exit the elevator in Mr. Nas' apartment and Ben greets them, they waste little time and head to the bedroom to find Satan's body laying in the bed. They have their potion and they have a contingency, and though Ben assures them that he's out cold, they approach cautiously.

As Cordelia nears the bedside to take a hair from the Devil's head, however, they're ambushed. In the hall, Mr. Nas speaks to Ben in his mind and, recognizing the betrayal for what it is, incapacitates him. By the fireplace, Tate Langdon emerges from the shadows and strangles Queenie to death. As Mr. Nas opens his eyes, shocking Cordelia, Mr. Phibes stabs her in the back several times.

Once the room quiets, Mr. Phibes exclaims that they finally did it. As the fireplace rages behind him, Mr. Nas smiles.
