Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The "oldest" ghost (that is, the one who died first) is Thorfinn (Devan Chandler Long), a Norwegian Viking ghost who died in the 11th century. His power that affects the living world is what?

Answer: affecting electrical devices, as he was killed by a lightning bolt

When the mansion had electrical service installed, he found he could make the lights flicker. When the Arondekars moved in with their 21st century devices, he found he could crudely control the TV, basically turning it off at will.
2. Isaac Higgintoot (Brandon Scott Jones) was an American Colonial army officer who fought in the War of American Independence. His power that affects the living world is this.

Answer: emitting a foul odor when a living passes through him, as he died of dysentery

Not one of the more popular powers, but it has come in handy from time to time.
3. Alberta Haynes (Danielle Pinnock) was 1920's era jazz singer, who died in the mansion when it was used as a Prohibition-era speakeasy. What is her power that affects the living world?

Answer: When she sings, her singing voice can be heard as quiet, ghostly song

Alberta actually died by being poisoned by an adulterated alcoholic drink.
4. Flower (Sheila Carrasco) was a 1960s hippie who lived with a cult, until she and her boyfriend ran away. Her effect on the living is which?

Answer: She can make a living feel stoned if she passed through them (or vice versa), as she was tripping when she died

Flower actually was mauled to death by a bear. But being stoned, she thought it just wanted to hug.
5. Trevor (Asher Grodman) was a 1990s stock broker, who died at a party held in the mansion. He can affect the living world by which of the following?

Answer: Moving small objects, which takes severe concentration

Trevor walks around with no pants on (and presumedly no underwear). This is because he gave them to a fellow stock broker who was being hazed by others at the party, making him walk to town without his pants. Trevor told the others that he had just had sex with their female limo driver to cover his selfless act.
6. Hetty Woodstone (Rebecca Wisocky), on occasion, has possessed a living, which gives her sporadic control over their body. How does a ghost come to possess a living?

Answer: The living is electrically shocked, and they fall back into where the ghost is

Hetty does have another potential power, but it's not canon whether it exists or was just happenstance. She was yelling at the ghost of her husband Elias, who was going to use his "horniness" power to forcibly rid the manor of the living. She shouted at him to go to Hell, then a red-lit portal formed underneath Elias and sucked his down to Hell. Later, she jokingly told Trevor to go to Hell, but nothing happened beyond scaring Trevor. So if it is a power, it maybe only manifests itself when she directs it at someone who truly deserves a trip to Hell.
7. Hetty's husband - Elias Woodstone (Matt Walsh) - was unknowingly also a ghostly inhabitant of the mansion for over a century. (He had accidentally been locked in a secret vault for over a century. Somehow the vault's construction was impervious to ghosts passing through it.) When he was released from his confinement in a ghost-proof safe, he found he had this power over the living.

Answer: He could make the living unabashedly horny by passing through them

Elias was sent to Hell by Hetty in his first appearance (after he was found locked in a ghost-proof vault). He later returned to ask for forgiveness so that he could be released from Hell. But of course, his true intentions were hidden.
8. Sasappis (Román Zaragoza), a Native American ghost of the Lanape tribe, is the second oldest ghost on the mansion property. His power that affects the living is what?

Answer: Entering and controlling dreams

Sas loves the smell of pizza. (The ghosts can't eat, but they can smell food.) When Jay is thinking about what improvements need to be done to their B&B, Sas decides to intrude into Jay's dreams at night and suggests getting a pizza oven.
9. Pete (Richie Moriarty) was a scout master, who died when one of his scouts shot him with an arrow through the neck. Pete's power is this.

Answer: He can leave the mansion's property, where the other ghosts can't leave

Pete was employed as a travel agent, which is apropos to him being able to travel when the others can't. He can't stay away too long, or else his energy levels fade.
10. Patience (Mary Holland) is a Puritan-era ghost, who has been a temporary resident of the manor. She has a strict moral/religious code, and she see most modern conveniences as the work of the devil. What is her power that affects the living world?

Answer: She can make the walls bleed

She got offended when Sam's father and his girlfriend stayed the night (since they were unmarried but sleeping together). She managaged to write "SIN" on their bedroom wall before she couldn't generate more blood to write "SINNERS".
