Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In 'Spies' (episode 1), Sam and Jay host their very first guests at the Woodstone Bed and Breakfast however they quickly learn that this couple are serial complainers. Which of the following is NOT one of Tom and Debbie's complaints?

Answer: There is a foul smell coming from the kitchen

The foul smell coming from the kitchen was part of the couple's one-star review of Linda's Shrimp Shack (Debbie's sister's establishment).

All of the complaints are made out of Sam and Jay's earshot but the ghosts relay them to Sam so she and Jay can course correct in real time. Other complaints made by Tom and Debbie include: the bedsheets are too thin, Sam is too chatty, her voice is too high-pitched and she hovers.
2. In 'Alberta's Podcast' (episode 2), Hetty's sleep is disrupted by which broken appliance?

Answer: Washing machine

Although initially frustrated by the racket made by the appliance, Flower points out that there are other uses for a broken washing machine and encourages Hetty to sit on it. Hetty does so and is mystified by the sensation she experiences.
3. In 'Jay's Friends' (episode 3), Micah and his cult move into the Woodstone mansion. What product do the cult members sell, claiming they enhance a person's quality of life?

Answer: Vitamin patches

The formula of vitamins and nutrients came to cult leader Micah in a dream. Jay gets "patched in" and Micah tricks him into signing a contract which allows the cult to move into the mansion.
4. In 'The Tree' (episode 4), an old tree on Sam and Jay's neighbour's property needs to be cut down, much to Sasappis' despair. He lies about the tree's significance, leading to Sam writing an op-ed and locals coming to protest the tree's demise. By the end of the episode, is the tree in question still standing?

Answer: No

Sasappis claims the thirteen marks cut into the tree represent the thirteen dialects of the Lenape people when they actually represent the times Shiki said "hi" to him. When Sam challenges a living Lenape person on his knowledge of his own people, Sasappis comes clean leading to Sam backing down. The protestors turn on her (and Woodstone Estate in general) and the tree is felled.
5. In 'Halloween 2: The Ghost of Hetty's Past' (episode 5), Jay needs to visit the Halloween party of which famous actor (with a very particular set of skills) in order to retrieve a feather duster?

Answer: Liam Neeson

Sam and Jay accidentally summon the ghost who was sleeping with Hetty's husband in a seance at their last-minute Halloween Party. Molly (the ghost in question) is an Irish maid and is holding a feather duster when she appears. Earlier in the evening, Jay had lent their neighbour June the very same feather duster to complete her Ruth Maid-er Ginsberg costume and needs to track her down at Liam Neeson's party in order to retrieve it so they can send Molly back to the afterworld.
6. In 'The Baby Bjorn' (episode 6), Jay expresses an interest in purchasing some upside-down pineapple ornaments at their neighbours' yard sale and accidentally discovers that Henry and Margaret Farnsby partake in which pastime?

Answer: Swinging

After Jay innocently takes an interest in some upside-down pineapple ornaments at the Farnsbys' yard sale, we learn from Judy (the ghost of Henry Farnsby's mother) that this signifies that the Farnsbys are into swinging. Later in the episode, Jay and Sam visit the Farnsbys' house whilst they are hosting a swinger party which further deepens the misunderstanding in the Farnsbys' minds.
7. In 'Dumb Deaths' (episode 7), a TV show by that name wants to shoot an episode at the Woodstone Estate. Both Flower's and Pete's deaths are discussed as potential options for the episode, but whose death is featured in the final product?

Answer: Flower

The TV crew initially comes to Woodstone wanting to feature Flower's death (trying to befriend a bear whilst high on drugs) but she's hesitant because she doesn't want to look dumb on national television, only agreeing when Pete helps her see that this is a way she can really help Sam and Jay financially.

Later when the network thinks there are too many animal deaths already featured in that season of the show, the crew pivot to Pete's death (being shot through the neck with an arrow) instead.

Finally, after one of the crew shoots Jay with an arrow, the show agrees to revert back to Flower's story instead if Sam and Jay agree not to sue.
8. In 'The Liquor License' (episode 3), Sam and Jay host a whiskey tasting event which ends up taking on a speakeasy vibe down in the Woodstone vault. Inspired by one of the ghosts, what was the password required to enter the speakeasy?

Answer: Arrow Nerd

Sam and Jay have the event planned and guest list finalised before Jay confesses that he forgot to get the B&B's liquor license. They decide to go ahead anyway ("what's one more day?") and of course, the assessor shows up partway through. To effectively hide their guests and the liquor, Alberta has the idea to create a speakeasy in the vault.

As she leads the guests to the secret passage entrance, Sam says they just need to know the password. She makes one up on the spot taking inspiration from what she could see (Pete was standing next to her).

Hearing her choice, Pete responds with, "pretty sure 'arrow' would have sufficed."
9. In 'The Christmas Spirit, Part One' (episode 9), Jay's sister Bela visits Woodstone Estate for Christmas and brings along her friend Eric. After flirting with one another in season 1, Trevor wants to physically touch Bela by possessing Eric. Is Bela on board with this plan?

Answer: Yes

Trevor messages Bela to ask if she'd be okay with this plan and she immediately responds with 'yes'. Not only that but Bela asks Eric if he'd be a willing participant and he also agrees!
10. In 'The Christmas Spirit, Part Two' (episode 10), Isaac remembers his wife Beatrice and feels guilty for deceiving her and trapping her in a sham marriage. What was the nickname she used to call him because he "chirped endlessly"?

Answer: Cricket

Beatrice had embroidered a cricket onto Isaac's handkerchief because of this nickname. Sasappis also reveals that she came to see him on his deathbed and changed him into the uniform he's wearing now that he's a ghost. This act helps him to realise that she cared about her husband and forgave him.
