In an attempt to save him, Patience offers to take his place so she can "walketh the walk". Unfortunately, she can't follow through, and Pete steps up instead, only for Carol to take HIS place as a sort of penance for all of the things she did to Pete when they were both alive.

Thorfinn's son Bjorn announces that he's getting married to fellow ghost Judy and will do so in front of the window he uses to communicate with his father so Thorfinn can watch. Unfortunately, a bookcase is moved to block the window before the wedding takes place, leading to a series of events that include Sam climbing out of a window and Jay ending up trapped in a closet with a puritan ghost.

After Sam and Jay accidentally reincarnate a mummy Hetty bought and had shipped over from Egypt in the 1890s, he vows to take revenge by "raining pestilence and death" down upon any members of the Woodstone family and/or their descendants. Hetty is then asked to introduce herself, and she blurts out that she's Marge Gunderson and died in 1995 at a costume party. Out of earshot, Alberta asks Hetty why she chose to impersonate the lead character from the 1996 film "Fargo", complete with a Minnesotan accent, and Hetty claims it was simply the first thing that came to mind.

Nancy is acting as campaign manager for the incumbent candidate (Creepy Dirk) and they come upstairs in order to try to drum up some votes. When Isaac declares that he's "throwing his hat into the ring", Flower takes the phrase literally and thinks that throwing hats into rings sounds like a fun activity.

She therefore declares that she too is in. Although Alberta did want the job four years ago, she decides to opt out this time around.

Trevor splashes his money about and buys his daughter a Porsche as a gift. Sam doesn't understand the appeal of such an opulent car, claiming she just wants a car that gets her from A to B but when she needs to move the car out of their driveway, she falls in love, waxing lyrical about the comfortable seats, the supple leather and the finely-tuned engine.

Answer: Pete and Trevor

Dying in 1985 and 2000, respectively, Pete and Trevor have to sit at a side table in the dining room while everyone else is at the main table. Trevor thinks it's "lame" whereas Pete seems quite content to be there. He even plays into Trevor's analogy of it being a kids' table by suggesting the two of them choreograph a dance and present it to the grown-ups.

Although Eric comes to Woodstone intending to propose to Bela, Sam's well-intentioned meddling, a dream-state dalliance with Sasappis, and a realisation from Bela that she'd be settling if she marries Eric mean that, by the end of the episode, the couple has instead separated. Poor Eric has his heart broken multiple times during the episode as he overhears Bela talking about her feelings whilst hiding in large cardboard boxes at the restaurant.

Alberta reveals to Thorfinn and Pete that her real name is Esther Greene, explaining to the latter that before she became famous as a singer, she'd found success as a ventriloquist. Her dummy was named The Magnificent Murray and when she realised that he was holding her back from living her dream as a singer, she decided to take drastic steps in order to cut ties with her scene partner.

When brainstorming what to give Flower for Christmas, Thor says that his girlfriend often wants food because she's had "the munchies for many years" and decides that the best way to fulfill that wish is to help Flower to possess Sam. Since it's Christmas, contractor Mark and his son create an enormous gingerbread replica of Woodstone Estate and gift it to Sam and Jay.

Unfortunately, it doesn't survive Flower's cravings.

After Sam wishes she never gained the ability to see ghosts, she's shown what her life would be like if that were the case. This allows her to see the many ways the ghosts have influenced her life, and likewise how much she's influenced theirs. It also means that some of the ghosts' more unethical habits haven't been quashed, such as Trevor creating online dating profiles and using them to flirt with women like Sam, who seems quite happy to reciprocate!
