Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Leaving Prague at the start of Leg 3, racers drove themselves to what Czech city?

Answer: Kutná Hora

Heading out from Prague at the start of their third leg, racers were told to drive themselves deeper into the Czech Republic to the city of Kutná Hora, and there, they located their next clue box outside the Kutná Hora Municipal Brewery. This one was a Road Block, and one member of each team needed to feel 'tapped out'. In this, the selected racer needed to head inside and fill bottles of local beer using the spigots provided.

Before arriving, racers were informed that there would be a Driver's Seat ahead on the course, and one team would get the honour of using this mechanic.
2. After the Driver's Seat was used, how many teams were required to complete only one crate's-worth of beer filling at the Leg 3 Road Block?

Answer: Two

At the Kutná Hora Municipal Brewery, racers also hit the Driver's Seat board, and the first team to arrive, which ended up being Natalie and Stephanie, had to determine how many crates of beer bottles teams needed to fill up for their Road Block with two teams receiving a single crate, five teams receiving two, and four teams receiving three. Ultimately, they gave themselves two crates and placed the single crate of work into the hands of Izzy and Paige and Hannah and Simone.

After receiving this info they could broach the task and complete the challenge for their clue.
3. In the Czech countryside (in Leg 3), teams had to complete a needle-in-a-haystack task by locating a clue envelope in which spot?

Answer: Buried in soil

Leaving the brewery, teams had to drive themselves to the town of Nové Dvory to locate a field at Kostel sv. Anny, and there, they opened their clues to determine that they would be doing a bit of manual labour. For this task, teams had to help a local farmer by getting their hands on a ruchadlo, generally a horse-driven plow. With one racer pulling the plow and the other steering it, racers had to create furrows along their designated lanes to dig up a clue hidden in the soil. Finding this, racers would be able to keep driving onward.
4. A second Road Block encountered in Leg 3 had racers playing which sport?

Answer: Hockey

Leaving the plow task, racers drove to Zimní Stadion Kutná Hora and found a second Road Block task, this one needing to be a single racer whether or not they completed the brewery task earlier in the leg. For this one, the competing teammate needed to dress themselves up in all of the proper hockey gear and hit the ice.

After receiving a pass from a professional player, the racers had to skate down the ice and plant a shot in the net in one of five small slots of a goalie cover. If they could get one puck in, they would get their next clue from the referee.
5. Which team was eliminated without reaching the Pit Stop in the Czech Republic in Leg 3?

Answer: Megan and Matt

Coming out of the second Road Block, racers received a golden coin that acted as their final clue for the leg, and if they could identify the building depicted on it, they would be able to find it and their third Pit Stop. Driving their way to the town of Svatý Mikulás, Phil and the mat would be located inside the library of the Kacina Château.

Natalie and Stephanie took the win this leg after Jas and Jag allowed them to step on the mat first-- a gift for Natalie's birthday. The sisters won $2,500 USD each as reward while Jas and Jag felt they were able to keep the heat off their backs by winning three legs in a row.

At the back of the pack, Megan and Matt found themselves lost en route to the plow task midway through the leg and they fell far enough behind for Phil to locate them on the course and eliminate them without finishing.
6. Arriving in Budapest in Leg 4, racers had to find their clue with a king. What type of building did they enter to locate this king?

Answer: A thermal bath

Leaving Central Prague directly in front of the train station, racers were told to purchase tickets and head southward via overnight train to the Hungarian capital of Budapest. While some teams took earlier routes with multiple connections, others booked a direct flight arriving an hour later.

When teams arrived in Budapest, they needed to make their way on foot to the Széchenyi Thermal Bath, put on swimsuits, and locate a bathing king to get their next clue. The catch was that the king they were looking for was a chess piece, and unscrewing the top of it, they would get their next destination written inside.
7. Which team claimed the Fast Forward in Hungary, completing the Rubik's Cubes in Leg 4?

Answer: Tucker and Eric

Leaving the thermal baths, teams walked onwards to a clue box waiting outside Városligeti Mujégpálya, the city's park ice rink, and there, Tucker and Eric found a Fast Forward task. For this, participating racers needed to complete Rubik's cubes, and if both of them were able to do so, following precise instructions as to how to match the sides, within seven and a half seconds, they would get their next clue. Tucker and Eric succeeded in their efforts and got to skip all tasks for the remainder of Leg 4.

All other teams, meanwhile, proceeded with the rest of the leg.
8. The Road Block teams encountered in Budapest involve maneuvering which of these?

Answer: Horses

Racers bypassing the Fast Forward option instead proceeded by taxi to Ludovika Huszár Lovarda to find a Road Block and one member of each team was required to 'coach'. For this challenge, selected racers had to get into a horse-drawn coach and act as a csikós, guiding their animals around a figure-eight course. If they could complete the time trial in under forty-five seconds, they would get their next clue and keep racing.

Natalie, Izzy, Simone, Jag, Joseph, Alex, Kristine, Jack, and Kyland completed this task.
9. During the 'Juggling Act' Detour task at the Hungarian circus (in Leg 4), racers learned to juggle with which of these?

Answer: Rings

After the Road Block, racers made their way to the House of Houdini where they were required to unlock a box containing their Detour clue. Once they did, however, they could choose between 'Juggling Act' and 'Balancing Act'.

In 'Juggling Act', racers headed to the Capital Circus of Budapest to learn the basics of juggling. If racers could juggle five rings between themselves for at least ten seconds, they could get their next clue.

In 'Balancing Act', teams instead made their way to Vasas Szakszervezeti Szövetség to learn a fast-footed, choreographed Hungarian dance involving balancing a bottle on one's head. Finishing out the dance without dropping the bottle would result in a clue.

Only Kyland and Taylor and Joseph and Adam chose 'Juggling Act'. All other Detoured teams completed the dance.
10. At the end of Leg 4 which team checked into the Pit Stop in last place, resulting in their elimination?

Answer: Kat and Alex

Closing out the fourth leg of the race, teams had to locate Phil and the mat beneath Buda Castle, specifically on the river at the Várkert Bazár. Here, Tucker and Eric coasted to an early victory having claimed the Fast Forward, and with this, they won a trip for two to La Paz, Bolivia courtesy of Expedia.

After most teams were equalized by the Road Block, the Detour ultimately spelled the end for Kat and Alex who, struggling with the folk dance, landed on the mat in tenth and were sent home in a tearful elimination.
