Upon arriving, racers had to locate the former throne for the king of this once-lost citadel, climbing the extensive stairs of Lion Rock to do so. Once they located the clue box at the top, they would be able to continue racing.

Once teams found the clue box atop Lion Rock, they had to descend the landmark once again and head out to the Sigiriya Moat. There, they would be able to locate a marked spot with a snake charmer waiting for their arrival. For this task, one member of each team would need to play a traditional woodwind instrument known as a punga while the other had to reach their band into a basket containing a real cobra to locate a token with a lotus flower on it. If they could brave the snake, they could trade the token for their next clue.

Answer: Auto rickshaw

Teams who calmed their cobras needed to proceed to Prince Villa Sigiriya to collect tuk-tuks (or auto rickshaws) that they would be using for the remainder of the leg, but they would do so with a Detour task in hand.

Aesha and Scott, however, would be met with a Speed Bump upon arriving at this spot as they'd placed last at the mat in Leg 8. For this added challenge, while all other teams could head out to their next task, the couple had to change a flat tire on their vehicle before moving on.

Answer: 'Fire Mask'

Driving around Sigiriya, racers had to select either 'Fire Dance' or 'Fire Mask' for their Detour, attempting one of these upon locating their stations at Hiriwadunna Village. In 'Fire Dance', teams needed to learn the art of the traditional Gini Sisila dance, performing it with the villagers while in 'Fire Mask', teams had to paint a traditional Raksha mask. While one racer painted on a mask being worn by their partner, the mask-wearing partner also had to paint it onto the face of their teammate.

Steve and Bernie and Aesha and Scott selected 'Fire Dance' while Gretel and Epiphany, Rob and Georgie, Melissa and Leah, and Luke and Scott selected 'Fire Mask'. With this in mind, Steve and Bernie felt that they would be unable to complete the 'Fire Dance' task and, as such, took a thirty minute penalty.

Leaving the Detour, all teams had left to do was find their ninth Pit Stop, this time waiting for them at the Pidurangala Ruins at the edge of Sigiriya. Despite starting the race in last and needing to overcome a Speed Bump, Aesha and Scott excelled in the Detour and overtook everyone to claim their second win of the race (having won the first leg in Sri Lanka as well).

Despite Steve and Bernie taking a thirty minute penalty at the Detour, they ended up placing fifth, checking into the Pit Stop mere steps ahead of Melissa and Leah who were, subsequently, eliminated in sixth place.

Teams had to get themselves out of Sigiriya, Sri Lanka, where they ended the ninth leg, and all the way to Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. The five pairs departed in the order at which they arrived at the previous Pit Stop and were instructed to take the city metro to NTU Hospital Metro Station where, outside the station at ground level, they would be able to locate their next clue box. All teams managed to converge on the same train except for Gretel and Epiphany.

Reaching NTU Hospital Metro Station and heading out Exit 1, racers found a clue box, topside, containing their Road Block task for this leg of the race. Here, one team member needed to be the one who 'never puts a foot wrong', and with that, they needed to traverse a reflexology path through 228 Peace Memorial Park, barefoot and with their backpack on. At the end of the fifteen meter path, they would need to identify where the heart pressure point is located on a waiting local's foot in order to receive their next clue or, else, they would have to try again.

Georgie, Bernie, Luke, Scott, and Gretel completed this task.

Leaving their Road Block, teams encountered a Face Off for the first time in "Amazing Race Australia" history and had to rush off to take their spot in line at iFG Farglory Square. There, teams would need to don virtual reality headsets and wristbands to enter the arena for a game of Hado, effectively virtual dodgeball. Teams had eighty seconds to lob balls at their foes to gain points, and the team that accrued the most points at the end of the round would be able to get their clue and keep racing.

The last team left at the task would be saddled with a seat in the Sin Bin and a five minute penalty before they could carry on racing. This ended up being Gretel and Epiphany.

Leaving the Face Off, teams received their Detour clues, and both sent them to Breeze Xinyi in Taipei City. The choice, this time, was between song and dance. In 'Sing It', racers hit the streets to participate in KTV karaoke, dressing in traditional outfits and performing a folk song entirely in Taiwanese. If they pronounced everything in the right melody, they could get one more clue. In 'Shake It', teams joined a group performing k-pop songs, and if they could get the choreo down, they could keep racing.

Rob and Georgie, Luke and Scott, and Steve and Bernie went with 'Sing It' while Aesha and Scott and Gretel and Epiphany completed 'Shake It'.

Racers left the Detour tasks at the end of Leg 10 and were instructed to bring themselves, by taxi, to the tenth Pit Stop mat waiting for them at Taipei Cinema Park. Here, racers received their placement from Beau and an unexpected greeter-- Ubi-chan, an AI-generated Vtuber model presented on an LED screen.

This leg, Rob and Georgie overtook the other teams at the Detour to claim the win while Gretel and Epiphany, behind for the most of the leg, stepped on the mat behind the group.
