Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the Darkdrift Knight's name?

Answer: Fulghor

Curiously, the Latin word "fulgor" means brightness, splendor, glory, or a flash of lightning. While most of these things certainly can apply to Fulghor, his biggest weakness being Lightning makes the latter out to be fairly ironic.
2. Like most expeditions, players are told in-game what Darkdrift Knight's biggest weakness is. What is it?

Answer: Lightning

The in-game description perhaps isn't as blatant as others in conveying the weakness, reading "according to legend, the mightily radiant gods (of whom, Darkdrift Knight actively hunts) were able to conceal themselves in the roar of the thunder."

Application of enough Lightning can apply a debuff to Fulghor, whereupon he will temporarily deal less damage and receive more damage from all sources. In particular, his Golden Lance skill can be very easily interrupted with even the slightest bit of Lightning, and this is a very important skill to interrupt.
3. Like his peers, the Darkdrift Knight bears a title. What is it?

Answer: Champion of Nightglow

'Night glow' in this context likely alludes to the fact that Darkdrift Knight primarily uses Holy ("glow"), a light based element despite being a Nightlord whose existence takes place within the night.
4. The Darkdrift Knight makes his main resistance fairly clear throughout the fight. What is the least effective element to use against him?

Answer: Holy

With a 30% buffer to incoming Holy damage, Fulghor isn't as insurmountable with this element as other bosses, but taking him down with Holy naturally makes the fight longer and harder.
5. Night 1 of this expedition offers a small pool of bosses, as with any expedition. Here, one potential assailant works under Morgott the Omen King in "Elden Ring" as his lackey, riding a funeral steed. Which of the following is a possible Night 1 boss under this expedition?

Answer: Night's Cavalry

If fought as a Night boss, it will be two Night's Cavalrymen. Worth noting is that this boss can also appear in the field, as a singular cavalryman. If this happens, it guarantees that the duo fight cannot be the Night 1 boss, so the player could use this information to potentially better prepare themselves for the first night.
6. Darkdrift Knight has arguably the most notable Night 2 pool of bosses in the entire game, for the sole reason that one ultra iconic boss carried over from "Dark Souls 3" can appear here. Which of the following can potentially be the Night 2 boss on this Expedition?

Answer: Nameless King

Nameless King was one of the bosses used to promote this game during its pre-release hype phase, and his presence in this game no doubt drew players right in.

Sadly, in this game, Nameless King is missing the mid-phase transition cutscene that made such a massive impression during "Dark Souls 3". Nevertheless, the king commands the respect of Nightfarers unlike most reused bosses, flying in with his dragon as King of the Storm, before jumping off of it to get his hands dirty once the dragon is slain, just as in the original.

He understandably has lost a few steps and ultimately isn't as intimidating as he was in his original appearance, for the simple reason that this game is a lot faster paced and gives the player far more options than "Dark Souls 3" ever did. That said, unlike other reused bosses such as Gaping Dragon or The Duke's Dear Freja, Nameless King is absolutely not a pushover, even if he isn't the same terrifying force as he once was.
7. Darkdrift Knight has perhaps the most exclamatory means of transitioning to his second phase if fought in Everdark mode. What happens to indicate that the Everdark phase is beginning?

Answer: Darkdrift Knight ascends to godhood

During the first phase, Darkdrift Knight is somewhat controlled and influenced by a Nightclaw, presumably imposed upon him by the very gods he has been serving and trying to hunt down. When Everdark phase begins, he will cleanly slice the claw off and miraculously reform it with a regular hand. Per the game's lore, Darkdrift Knight becomes one of the gods in doing this, shedding their influence and staking a claim to their power in the process.

This makes for a pretty epic, jaw-dropping way to start the phase, as players will straight up witness him sever his own hand and ascend to godhood in front of their very eyes.
8. During Everdark phase, Darkdrift Knight can manifest his seemingly ordinary lance into a number of different, radiant weapons. Which of the following can Darkdrift Knight manifest his weapon into?

Answer: Bow

He can use it as a bow, firing radiant bolts at the player as well as the occasional hail of radiant arrows. He could also manifest it into a freakishly long twinblade, with which to launch long, swift combos at the player. He can do this on the fly, without any proper way to tell exactly when or what he will manifest.
9. When defeating regular Darkdrift Knight for the very first time, players will receive the Night of the Champion relic. What is one trait under this relic?

Answer: HP Restoration upon Thrusting Counterattack

This is perfect for The Guardian in particular, as he deals the majority of his damage through Thrusting Counterattacks, and will very much appreciate the HP restoration supplementing his tankiness. Another of the relic's traits is 'Guard counter is given a boost based on current HP' - almost as if it was made specifically for The Guardian.

It is also a fine choice for The Scholar due to him starting games off with a Rapier, a thrusting weapon and having dormant power entwined within thrusting weapons.

In addition, this relic increases the user's max Stamina.
10. Dark Night of the Champion, earned on defeating Everdark Darkdrift Knight for the first time, offers a unique trait 'Boosts Attack Power of Added Affinity Attacks' that may be difficult to comprehend. Which of the following is an 'added Affinity'?

Answer: Using grease

Using any form of grease will buff the user's weapon with an 'added Affinity', the affinity depending on the type of grease used.

This relic has very good synergy with the Night of the Lord relic, a relic which can automatically apply added Affinity to weapons without the need for a consumable.
