Answer: Orange

Agent Orange was a powerful chemical that was used by the American military during the Vietnam War to destroy forest cover and crops during an aggressive programme which was codenamed "Operation Ranch Hand". Many thousands of Vietnamese people were exposed to the chemical which resulted in skin diseases, cancers and birth defects. In 1971 the USA banned the use of Agent Orange.

If a person is described as yellow bellied it means they are cowardly or easily scared. The origin of the phrase is vague but the colour yellow has traditionally been associated with treachery and cowardice. In Medieval paintings Judas Iscariot is often seen wearing a yellow jacket to emphasise his treacherous nature.

The term "yellow belly" is also a nickname given to inhabitants of the county of Lincolnshire in England.

They inhabit southern Canada to northern Florida during the breeding season and migrate to southern Florida and South America for the winter.

Jason Thomas Orange was born in Crumpsall, Manchester on 10th July 1970. He joined the boy band "Take That" in 1989 along with Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen. They went on to have many hits including "Relight My Fire" in 1993 which featured the British singer Lulu.

He remained with the band until they split up in 1996. He rejoined the band when they reformed in 2005 but left in 2014.

It later became the title of the Beatles animated film "Yellow Submarine" which was released in 1968.

Violet Beauregarde is one the characters in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" to find a Golden Ticket and win a tour of the famous factory. She is obsessive about chewing gum. She is the second child to be eliminated from the tour when she chews the prototype of a gum Willie Wonka is working on which doubles as a three course meal.

This causes her to be turned into a giant blueberry and she is taken away by the Oompa-Loompas.

"Orange is the New Black" is a comedy-drama series set in a woman's prison. The story centres on the character Piper Chapman who is imprisoned for 15 months in prison after being found guilty of historic drug trafficking charges. It premiered in July 2013 and ran for seven seasons until 2019.

It is based on the writer Piper Kerman's own experiences of prison and starred Taylor Schilling as Piper Chapman.

Yellow journalism is the use of sensational news stories to attract readers and increase the circulation of newspaper. The stories are often poorly researched and inaccurate. They are often used in the perfume industry due to their distinctive odour. Violet petals are often used to decorate cakes and salads.
