1. War time British Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill, was alleged, by his son in a biography to have an ancestor who was which race?

Answer: Native American

This is now regarded as an urban myth although no proof either way can be provided for his great-great grandmother, Clarissa Wilcox, as to whether or not she was Native American.
2. The decibel was named after the credited inventor of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell.

Although Bell was the first to hold a full patent on the telephone, there have been many claims as to who actually invented it. These names include Antonio Meucci, who filed a patent caveat for it but never got around to getting a full patent.

Answer: False

9. Which European motor racing track, before modernisation, had 147 corners and was 13 miles long?

Answer: Nurburgring, Germany

It also has the misfortune of being the track where most people have died. It has claimed over 200 lives since it opened in 1939, and was the scene of Niki Lauda's horrific accident in 1976. The track was its full 13 miles long until the 1960s when a new autobahn cut through the track...compensation was paid and the track upgraded to the new 4.2 mile length.
10. Should you wish to have a large egg sandwich, you would have to wait 40 minutes to hard boil your ostrich egg.

Answer: True

An ostrich egg can weigh between 1.3 and 1.8kgs and be about 15 centimetres across. And contrary to popular belief, ostriches do not bury their heads in the sand.
