Answer: Civilian Patriots

On July 3, 1778 Loyalists and Iroquois Indians began by attacking a nearby fort and executing prisoners of war. Then they moved on to burn Patriot farms and kill fleeing settlers. It is reported that they took 227 scalps.

2. What were the Articles of Association?

Answer: They united the Colonies against Great Britain

Drafted in 1774, The articles were a petition of grievances against the British "Intolerable Acts". It also paved the way for the Declaration of Independence by imposing economic sanctions against the crown in an attempt to force Britain to repeal or modify the acts without severing its relationship with England.

Answer: Queen's American Rangers

It was originally formed by Robert Rogers in 1755 and disbanded after the Seven Years' War or French and Indian war. When Revolution broke out Rogers reassembled it and fought on the British side. It still survives today but as part of the Canadian Army.

It was created as a means of communication between the colonies over issues concerning their future. It was an illegal body and when the Massachusetts body met for four days in 1775 General Gage felt his authority was being threatened. So he sent troops to Lexington and Concorde to establish his authority. Many believed it was to have Sam Adams and John Hancock arrested.

10. When was the actual signing of the Declaration of Independence?

Answer: August 2nd, 1776

It was endorsed by Continental Congress on July 4th, 1776 with copies sent to all the colonies. On July 19th Congress ordered it be "Engrossed on Parchment and signed by every member of Congress". That did not happen until August 2nd.
