Answer: Lord Rahl

Darken Rahl was really Richard's father and so that makes him the next ruler of D'Hara. Richard doesn't know this until Cara, Berdine, Raina, and Hally tell him so.

2. What were the gars created to do?

Answer: Hunt and kill the mriswith

Gars have the unique ability to see a mriswith even when it is cloaked. That is why they are able to kill them so easily.

3. What does General Reibisch do when he first meets Richard?

Answer: He laughs at him

General Reibisch thought that Richard and the Mord-Sith were charlatans and he laughed in their faces when Richard revealed himself. After the mriswith attacked, however, he changed his mind.

4. Who's the speaker: "They tore off my fingernails to make me speak lies!"?

Answer: Mistress Sanderholt

Tobias Brogan was questioning her about the Mother Confessor's death and she became angry at him and shouted this at him. That's why she always has her hands wrapped in bandages.

Answer: True

She used to be a woman but the wizards made her into the sliph. She can travel almost anywhere in the world in a matter of seconds. A person must have both sides of the magic to be able to enter her and they cannot take any instrument of magic with them.

6. Who is the "false Prelate"?

Answer: Sister Ulicia

Sister Ulicia made a deal with Richard when he returned to the Palace of the Prophets. She and the other Sisters of the Dark swore their alliegence to Richard so that they would be free of the dream walker. In return, Richard found out where Kahlan was being held.

7. Which country of the Midlands is the first to surrender over to D'Hara?

Answer: Kelton

Queen Lumholtz surrenders over Kelton before she is killed by the mriswith. Richard says that Galea is a part of the D'Haran Empire but it technically isn't until he gets Kahlan's approval.

Answer: Lady Sefa

This guy and his crew are totally disgusting. Even though Ulicia and the other Sisters are evil, I still felt sorry for them.

9. Why did Richard have to take off the mriswith cape?

Answer: It would eventually turn him into a mriswith

Berdine tried to warn him before he left for the Old World. She said that mriswith were wizards who had traded their power for the ability to become invisible. Wearing the cape too often would eventually bring about that transformation.

10. What was the name of the book that Richard and Berdine used to help them translate Kolo's journal?

Answer: "The Adventures of Bonnie Day"

The D'Haran dialect in Kolo's journal was too old for Berdine to read. Richard had memorized "The Adventures of Bonnie Day" and he helped her with any words she didn't know.
