This 1983 movie was a remake of a Telugu film of the same name and was directed by the same director K.Raghavendra Rao. Jeetendra played both father and son, the father being a judge, who had an impeccable professional life, fathered an illegitimate son (played again by Jeetendra) and whose past then returned to haunt him. Stars Hema Malini played the son's mother, Moushumi Chatterjee was the judge's lawful wife and Sridevi featured as the son's love interest.

Directed by Shakti Samanta in 1976, Hema Malini played a past princess whose ghost could be seen, and a present day village belle. The ghost reminded the hero (Rajesh Khanna)of his previous life and exhorted him to love the village belle.

Directed by T.Chanakya in 1967, this was the story of separated twin brothers, one a city dweller and the other a village bumpkin, who were mistaken for each other. Dilip Kumar won the Filmfare award for his role. Waheeda Rehman and Mumtaz co-starred.

Directed by his father Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik played a poor singer and a look-alike Non-Resident Indian from New Zealand. Amisha Patel co-starred in this 2000 movie. After the murder of her lover, the singer, by her father (Anupam Kher), she went to New Zealand to forget him and encountered the look-alike.

The rest of the movie told how the two avenged the singer's death and while doing so, got close to each other.

"Appu Raja" was the dubbed Hindi version of a Tamil movie, directed by Srinivasa Rao Singeetham in 1989. Kamalahaasan played the main roles of two brothers - one an automobile mechanic and the other a dwarf circus clown. The clown believed his disability was due to his brother and tried to take revenge on him.

Directed by Joy Mukherjee in 1968, he also played a Chinese and an Indian, involved in espionage during the cold war between their two countries. The Chinese captured the Indian and sent his look-alike to India to obtain military secrets. The Indian later escaped and came back to India where he tracked down and killed the spy. Mala Sinha and Sharmila Tagore were the two heroines, the former being the wife of the Chinese spy, while the latter played the Indian's girlfriend.

Rajesh Khanna played the roles of father and son, who were both air force pilots, although by the time the son joined the force, the father was already dead. Directed by Shakti Samanta in 1969, the film was entirely female-centric, with Sharmila Tagore doing full justice to her role.
