Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the Priyadarshan directed movie "Hulchul" about two warring families, which movie are Anjali (Kareena Kapoor) and her family watching when Jai (Akshaye Khanna) enters the house from the window?

Answer: Bobby

"Hulchul" is about two warring families, Angaar Chand's and Lakshmidevi's, who hate each other. No women are allowed in Angaarchand's house and family. When Angaarchand disrupts Lakshmidevi's grand-daughter's marriage, Anjali decides to take revenge by pretending to be in love with Jai, Angaarchand's son. But soon they really fall in love and all hell breaks lose. Jai's brother, Kishen, who had secretly married seven years earlier, and Anjali's uncle, Veer, help to bring them together.

"Bobby" is a classic film directed by the legend Raj Kapoor. Raja is the 18-year-old son of a wealthy Bombay businessman who suffers from his parents' coldness and neglect. Shortly after finishing school he meets Bobby, the 16-year-old daughter of a poor Christian fisherman. They fall head over heels for each other, but they'll need everything they have to defend their love as their families won't accept them marrying each other...
2. In the film "Akayla", which movie is the police officer Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) watching when he realizes that Braganza (Keith Stevenson) has a twin brother?

Answer: Seeta Aur Geeta

"Akayla" shows that Vijay and Ajay have been orphaned at a very young age and as a result Vijay has looked after Ajay, ensured that he has a good education, while he himself joins the Bombay Police and is now an Inspector. He meets with and falls in love with Seema, wants to marry her, but quickly changes his intentions when he finds out that his close friend and garage mechanic, Shekhar, is in love with her. Subsequently, Shekhar and Seema get married and eventually give birth to a baby boy, Bobby. Ajay meets and falls in love with Neetu and both seek Vijay's blessings for their marriage, which takes place with lot of pomp and ceremony. Vijay then meets with a club dancer, Sapna, and is attracted to her and would like to marry her. Before he can propose to her, he must first deal with a gangster named Anthony "Tony" Braganza, who along with his twin brother, Jojo, have wrecked havoc in Vijay's life. Tony and Jojo, on the run from Vijay, stop to get their car fixed at Shekhar's garage, a confrontation ensues, and Shekhar and Seema are killed. Vijay, hot on the heels of the Braganza brothers finds out that the next on the list are Ajay, Neetu and Sapna, and he will have to move quickly and out-think them before he ends up losing everyone in his life and remaining alone (Akayla) for the rest of his life.

"Seeta Aur Geeta" is Ramesh Sippy's second film as director. Seeta (Hema Malini) lives with her grandma (Pratima Devi) and her cruel aunt Kaushalya (Manorama), uncle Badrinath (Satyen Kappu), Kaushalya's brother, Ranjeet (Roopesh Kumar), and daughter Sheela (Honey Irani). Although Seeta is wealthy and owns the property, she is treated worse than a servant by Kaushalya, and Sheela. Ranjeet lusts after her, and uncle Badrinath is a silent spectator. The only emotional support for Seeta is her grandma, who is handicapped and wheelchair bound. One day Seeta, after being beaten by Kaushalya and Ranjeet, for purportedly stealing Ranjeet's wallet, leaves the house, and runs into a man called Raka (Dharmendra) who calls her "Geeta". She is also introduced to a woman, who calls her daughter (Radhika Rani). Perplexed at this situation, but having no choice, she stays on. Meanwhile, her look-alike, Geeta, is apprehended by the police and brought back to uncle and aunt. Geeta, unlike Seeta, is unafraid and soon assumes control of the house, and reduces her aunt, cousin, and Ranjeet to mere underlings and servants at her command. She also falls in love with wealthy Dr. Ravi (Sanjeev Kumar). But as fate could have it, Geeta's cover is blown and she is arrested for impersonation. Seeta, in the meantime, is unable to meet life's harsh demands, including dancing in the street, as was Geeta's and Raka's profession. As Geeta is got rid off, the aunt and Ranjeet locate Seeta and bring her back to her life of mute slavery, abuse, and confinment
3. Which intense love story does Ria (Raveena Tandon) often watch in the psychological love story "Dobara"? The movie which she watches is the Hindi film debut of one of the greatest actors from India.

Answer: Ek Duje Ke Liye

In "Dobara", Ranbir Sehgal and Ria have been in love, but their love does not last long, mainly due to Ria's mental illness. Ria is confined to a mental institute, and Ranbir marries Dr. Anjali, a psychiatrist. The Sehgals give birth to a baby boy, who tragically dies. Then years later Ria enters Ranbir's life, and tells him that she has given birth to a son named Varun, and would like Ranbir to accompany her to meet him. Ranbir is delighted and anxious to meet his son, and agrees to go with Ria. After Ria and Ranbir drive for several days, Ranbir starts to realize that Ria is more intent on the journey than on the destination, and that Varun may just be someone she conjured in her mind.

The cross-culture romance "Ek Duje Ke Liye" between a southern Vaasu and a northern Sapna epitomizes inter-caste and inter-state romance. The tragic end to the film depressed many lovers who faced similar problems in their love life. Fed up with the pressures of the society not ready to accept their union, one couple is said to have taken the course shown by the protagonists in the film. They committed suicide.

Ek Duje ke Liye saw southern actor Kamal Haasan appear for the first time in a Hindi film. Rati too stepped into Bollywood with this tragic love story and went on to become the number one in the industry.
4. Which film are Sanjay (Uday Chopra) and Ria (Bipasha Basu) watching in "Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi", which is about two friends who realize that they are in love, when they mute the dialogues and mouth the dialogues themselves?

She meets up with handsome and debonair Rohit (Jimmy Shergill), and both fall in love. Sanjay is heart-broken yet shows that he is excited, and goes out of the way to make arrangements for the marriage

Sooraj Barjatya's "Maine Pyar Kiya" has been an inspirational movie for a whole generation of film makers in India. Karan (Alok Nath) lives in a small house with his only daughter, Suman (Bhagyashree). He decides to travel overseas in Dubai, in the Persian Gulf, so that he can accumulate enough wealth to get his daughter married. He decides to leave his daughter with his friend, Kishen Kumar Choudhury (Rajiv Verma), wife Mrs. Kaushalya (Reema Lagoo), and son Prem (Salman Khan). Ironically, Shankar works for the owner of the hotel Shakhaal (Ajit); while Ratan sings in the same hotel as "Monto". None of the three brothers know of the other. Shankar is obsessed with revenge; Vijay hides in shame; while Ratan sings a song which could unite the three brothers. This was the song the family sang during happier times. Answer: Cars

"Dhoom 2" reinvents the action comedy genre and propels it into the 21st century. Ali's (Uday Chopra) dream of becoming a police officer has come true. He is now ACP Jai Dixit's (Abhishek Bachchan) 'right hand man'. Together, they are trying to keep a tight leash on the crime in India. Little do they know what they are going to be up against. Enter Aryan - Mr. A (Hrithik Roshan) - a hi-tech international thief. After pulling off a series of impossible heists all over the world, his next target is Mumbai, India. The case is given to ACP Jai and Ali. Helping them put the pieces of the puzzle together is ACP Shonali Bose (Bipasha Basu), Jai's college mate, now a police officer in her own right. For the last two years Shonali has been tracking these amazing thefts and is now an expert on this thief, whom no one has seen. Once in Mumbai, Mr. A finds his match in Sunehri (Aishwarya Rai), a petty yet clever thief. She makes him an offer he finds very hard to refuse. A partnership! Aryan accepts.
And so the game begins - a game of cat and mouse - a game of good v/s bad. The "cops" are Jai, Shonali and Ali; and they are after Aryan and Sunehri - the "robbers". The action runs from the desert of Namibia to the backwaters of Goa, the mean streets of Mumbai and the ancient forts of Rajasthan, and finally to "Wild 'n Exotic" Rio, Brazil.

Hrishikesh Mukherjee made the cult comedy "Golmaal" about a guy who lies to save his job when he is caught watching a game and has to keep lying to hide the lie including creating a fictitious twin brother. In the movie , when Ramprasad (Amol Palekar) meets Amitabh Bachchan at the studios, which movie is Amitabh shooting for?

Answer: Jurmana

"Jurmana" and "Golmaal" are both directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee.

In "Golmaal", Ramprasad is a recent college graduate who finds a job with a finicky man, Bhavani Shankar, who believes that a man without a mustache is a man without a character. Bhavani Shankar is also against any of his employees indulging in recreation of any kind. When Ramprasad is caught by his boss at a soccer match, he has to invent a twin brother, the clean-shaven Laxman Prasad, to save his job. Appropriately enough, "Naseeb", a story of destiny and fate, begins with a lottery ticket. A drunk who cannot pay his tab trades his 'winning' ticket to the waiter, Namdev, instead. Namdev, Damu, Ragu and one other friend decide to go in on the ticket together, but when it turns out to actually be a winner, Damu and Ragu turn on the other two, murdering the one and framing Namdev. Cut to ten years later - Damu and Ragu have used their stolen lottery money to build a fabulous hotel and make millions. Damu has used a share of his money to send his only son, Vicky to school in England. They have even employed Namdev's oldest son Johnny, Vicky's best friend, as a waiter in the hotel. By coincidence (or by fate!) John and Vicky fall in love with the same beautiful singer, Miss Asha. At the same time, John's younger brother Sunny has fallen for Asha's younger sister, Kim. Kim and Asha also happen to be the daughters of the man Namdev supposedly murdered. The lives of all these characters become intertwined and "Naseeb" becomes a poignant story about love, friendship, sacrifice and above all, destiny.

In "Dharam Veer", an astrologer informs Satpal Singh that his nephew will eventually kill him. When Satpal's sister, Maharani Meenakshi, gives birth to twins, he has one thrown from the castle walls, and replaces the second with his very own son. Now Satpal plots with Prince Sujan Singh, Dev Singh, leader of gypsies, Azad, and their goal is to create emnity between Dharam and Veer, make them enemies, have Dharam kill Veer in a combat, and then subsequently hang Dharam for killing Veer.
