Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Brent crashed his dad's car because he swerved to avoid which of these?

Answer: A person

Teenager Brent, behind the wheel of his dad's old car and learning to drive on an isolated, one-lane road, was talking to his dad, in the passenger seat, when the crash occurred. The two of them were doing little more than talking about the car and Brent's dad's rare cigarette when they were distracted for just a moment.

They barely saw the bleeding man walking down the lane, and Brent had to swerve around him, off the road, to avoid hitting him. What he did hit instead was a tree.
2. Brent's father died in the car crash at the start of the movie.

Answer: True

Six months after the horrible crash, Brent, now doing marijuana recreationally and struggling to cope with his father's loss, makes his plans for an upcoming dance. One of the girls at school, Lola, asks him to the dance, but he informs her that he's already got plans to go with Holly, his girlfriend.

He and Holly end up meeting up right after class to have fun in the front of Holly's car, but since they don't leave the school parking lot, Lola watches them from outside the vehicle. They don't notice, and afterwards, Holly drives Brent home since he's not comfortable behind the wheel.
3. Brent is kidnapped when he goes off to do which of these things?

Answer: Climb a cliff

With Holly planning to pick him up for the dance at 7:00, Brent takes his time getting ready, taking the dog out for a walk and cutting himself to feel the pain. During this time, he heads to a nearby cliffside and ascends to the top of it, almost deciding to throw himself off it, but changing his mind at the last moment.

At the top, sitting under a tree, he lights up a pipe and takes in the scenery. While his dog notices someone approaching, he doesn't hear the footsteps over his music, and someone covers his face with a rag, knocking him out and dragging him to their car. Holly ends up at Brent's place only to find his mother searching frantically for him; he's gone missing. Brent's dog later shows up at home, stabbed, but there's still no sign of Brent.

The police are notified.
4. Who specifically kidnapped Brent?

Answer: Lola's father

Brent ends up at Lola's house where her father unveils that he's done what he can to make his daughter's dance night perfect. Fortunately, Brent has a heartbeat, and while her father brings him inside, Lola works on her scrapbook and prepares for the big, special night.

Her father brings her a bag and reveals he bought her the perfect shoes and dress-- pretty as a picture. He also seems to have bought Brent a tux, and it's what he's wearing when he wakes up at the dining room table.
5. Which of these is used to prevent Brent from screaming out?

Answer: Bleach

Brent finds himself tied to a chair in Lola's house; the chair is bolted to the ground. At the table with him are Lola, her father, and another woman who, as it would seem, had a lobotomy. They call her 'Bright Eyes'. Before anything can happen, Lola injects Brent in the neck with a syringe of bleach, leaving him unable to speak or cry for help.

After this, of course, is a photo opportunity. Lola and her father enjoy a quick dinner while Brent tries to untie himself from his chair. He manages to do so, even after Lola's father grabs a hammer and threatens to strike him, by kicking Lola away and fleeing out into the yard, but he doesn't get much further than climbing up a tree.
6. Which of these is found by the police at the site of Brent's kidnapping?

Answer: iPod

Once Lola and her father corner and knock Brent out of his tree hiding spot with some well-placed rocks, they get him back inside, this time tying him with stronger knots and then, for good measure, staking his feet to the dining room floor with a couple of kitchen knives. Lola demands, as her father continues to pound the knifes into the floor, that Brent cry for her.
Back at home, Brent's mother and Holly wait to receive word about Brent. The police arrive with a bit of evidence; Brent's iPod was left behind at the scene of his kidnapping.
7. With which of these does Lola 'draw' on Brent's body?

Answer: Fork

Lola goes through her scrapbook with Brent, indicating that she's had a number of boyfriends in the past, all of whom have gone missing in the past. One of her boyfriends, she says, was 'the one that got away', and it turns out to be Timmy Valentine, the boy who Brent nearly hit on the day he crashed his dad's car. Lola says that he's probably dead by now. At last, and with that, Lola comes to Brent's page.
Lola decides that she's ready to draw on Brent, and to do this, she ends up using a fork to carve her initials, and a heart, into his skin. Her father claims that she gets better at it every time. And that's when the salt comes out.
Shortly after this, Lola's father gives his daughter the crown; Lola is the queen of the school dance!
8. Where do Lola and her father keep Lola's past boyfriends?

Answer: In a secret basement room

Lola forces Brent to dance in his seat, still staked to the floor, and she tells him that he's not her prince. He's just going to be like all the other boys. As Lola and her father have a dance together (and Brent tries to reach his razor blade necklace), Lola says that her father is her real prince and has been all along.
This does, of course, mean disposing of Brent like all the other non-starters, and that means a lobotomy so that he can live with all of the other princes in a secret room under their floorboards. Lola uses a drill to make the first necessary adjustment in the procedure (her first procedure, no less!), but while she's distracted, Brent is able to attack her father with his necklace, somehow slashing at him and freeing himself from the knives in his feet to stab and kill him. He tosses Lola's father into the trapdoor where the lobotomized boys inside gnaw him to pieces.
Lola, of course, has no choice but to toss Brent in and seal him inside.
9. Who stumbles upon the scene at Lola's house?

Answer: A police officer

Brent's girlfriend, Holly, acts on a hunch and contacts the local police to look into Lola, who she knows invited Brent to the dance earlier that day. The officer, the previous victim's father, ends up going out to check on Lola's house and, sure enough, finds he carnage therein.

He inevitably finds the trapdoor in the dining room and opens it to find Brent, but Lola attacks and kills him from behind, tossing his body into the room and vowing that she'll kill Holly and Brent's mother as revenge. Since he's unable to reach the trapdoor in the ceiling otherwise, Brent decides to create a mound using the bodies that he can climb to get to the top.

He escapes the house as the sun rises. Of course, Lola is already heading to town on foot.
10. How is Lola finally stopped?

Answer: She's hit by a car.

Lola continues to head into town but Holly, who's also decided to head out to Lola's to investigate, ends up coming down the road in her car. Lola stops the vehicle and rushes at her with a knife, fighting with her onto the road. The two end up in a chase on foot. Brent, having escaped the hidden room, speeds the police car left at Lola's until he comes over a small hill, nearly hitting Holly. Just like when he was driving with his father, he swerves out of the way to miss her, but this time he ends up hitting Lola. Holly reunites with him in the car and the two are shocked when it turns out that Lola survived the crash. Brent, seeing that she's still alive, simply reverses the vehicle onto her, crushing her and driving back to town.
