Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which Brat Pack movie completes the Fall Out Boy song title: "A Little Less ____, A Little More Touch Me"?

Answer: Sixteen Candles

"A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More Touch Me" was the third single off of FOB's 2005 album "From Under the Cork Tree". It is a lesser known song, having been slightly lost in the popularity of the previous two singles "Sugar, We're Going Down" and "Dance, Dance". The song was originally titled "A Little Less Molly Ringwald, A Little More Samantha Fox".

Molly Ringwald was the star of the 1984 movie "Sixteen Candles", and "Touch Me" is a song by Samantha Fox.
2. Fall Out Boy's contribution for the compilation album "A Punk Rock Christmas" was this song, whose title comes from a popular holiday movie about a young boy who desperately wants a Red Ryder BB Gun.

Answer: Yule Shoot Your Eye Out, Kid

"A Santa Cause: It's a Punk Rock Christmas" was a 2003 compilation CD whose profits went to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. All the song choices listed in this question are from that CD, but only "Yule Shoot Your Eye Out, Kid" was recorded by Fall Out Boy.

The title comes from the 1983 movie "A Christmas Story". In the movie, the main character Ralphie told his parents, a Santa at the mall, and a bunch of other people that he really wanted a Red Ryder BB Gun, always getting some variation of the response "But you'll shoot your eye out, kid!" Ralphie did get his BB gun, and he shot himself in the eye.
3. Which Fall Out Boy song title sounds awfully similar to the name of a series of popular video games?

Answer: Grand Theft Autumn

The song "Grand Theft Autumn/Where is Your Boy" first appeared on the 2003 FOB album "Take This to Your Grave". The title was borrowed from the title of a song by Braid, as well as a record company founded by members of that band.

It also sounds like it comes from the series of "Grand Theft Auto" video games, in which players play as a criminal in a big city. The first "GTA" game was released in 1997, for Sony Playstation. It has since developed into other expansion packs and sequels, set in various locations.
4. This Fall Out Boy song title is also a famous quote from a 1942 movie.

Answer: Of All the Gin Joints in All the World

In 1942's "Casablanca", Humphrey Bogart says about Ingrid Bergman "Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine".

Fall Out Boy borrowed the line for the title of their song "Of All the Gin Joints in All the World", which was recorded for 2005's "From Under the Cork Tree".
5. Which song title, subtitled "(But I'm Gonna Give it My Best Shot)" is also the title of a television show from the early '90s?

Answer: Parker Lewis Can't Lose

"Parker Lewis Can't Lose" was the title of a teen TV show, loosely based on the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". The character of Parker Lewis was based on Ferris Bueller, a teenager who can do anything, and talk his way out of anything too. The show aired on Fox in the US, from 1990 to 1993.

The song "Parker Lewis Can't Lose (But I'm Gonna Give it My Best Shot" is from FOB's first album, "Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend"(2003).
6. Which of these songs is also the name of a party game, usually played by teens and pre-teens?

Answer: 7 Minutes in Heaven

Seven Minutes in Heaven is a game in which a boy and a girl are chosen, usually by someone designated as the chooser at the beginning of the game, and they go into a closet (or somewhere else private) to do whatever they want for seven minutes - usually kissing. This popular game has been shown in countless movies and television shows, including "Family Guy" and "The O.C.".

The song "7 Minutes in Heaven" is on the CD "From Under the Cork Tree"(2005).
7. This Fall Out Boy song title is also perhaps the most famous quote from a certain '80s movie.

Answer: Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner

"Nobody puts Baby in the corner" is the probably the most quoted line from the 1987 film "Dirty Dancing". It starred Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey as Johnny and Baby. Johnny said the line to Baby's father at the end of the movie, before whisking Baby away to perform their dance routine.

This song also appears on the "From Under the Cork Tree" album.
8. Which of these Fall Out Boy songs alludes to a Molly Ringwald movie?

Answer: Pretty in Punk

1986's "Pretty in Pink" starred Molly Ringwald and Andrew McCarthy as Andie and Blane, teenagers who try to have a relationship despite their friends disapproval.

"Pretty in Punk" was recorded for FOB's 2003 debut CD "Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend".
9. Which song title alludes to Pete Rose, who was originally going to be named within the song's lyrics as well?

Answer: Headfirst Slide into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet

Pete Rose is a former baseball player who was known for his headfirst slides into the bases, but became more infamous for the scandal surrounding his habit of betting on baseball games while he was a player and manager in the MLB - a major no-no. Cooperstown, NY is where the Baseball Hall of Fame is located.

"Headfirst Slide into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet" was as single released off of Fall Out Boy's 2008 album "Folie a Deux". According to Wikipedia, Rose's name was kept out of the lyrics because the band was afraid of being sued.
10. The name of the band itself is a reference to Radioactive Man's sidekick, Fallout Boy. These are two minor characters on which popular television show, which became a movie in 2007?

Answer: The Simpsons

On "The Simpsons", Radioactive Man was the comic book hero much loved by Bart Simpson and his friends. Fallout Boy was Radioactive man's sidekick, the Robin to his Batman.

In January 2009, Fall Out Boy recorded the ending theme tune for "The Simpsons", which aired for at least one episode. It can also be found on iTunes.
