Led Zeppelin III was horribly judged by the Church. Jimmy Page decided that Led Zeppelin 'IV' would not have the band's name or the album's name anywhere on the jacket. This was to see if the music could sell by itself. Of course Atlantic was extremely upset at this idea but they eventually caved in. The album has no name that you can actually pronounce or write, the official title is the four symbols on the front of the CD. Apparently the music sold as you will see below.

(The tale is also attributed to The Who's bassist John Entwhistle.)Another story is that Keith Moon had an idea for a dream super-group consisting of himself, Jimmy Page and a few others which he was going call Led Zeppelin. I cannot testify to the accuract of either of these.
Although some won't agree, Led Zeppelin actually have nine studio albums because even though CODA is a compilation of unreleased songs that were recorded earlier on and put together it is still considered to be a studio album.
