Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the copyrighted name of the black pillar appearing on the cover of 'Presence'?

Answer: The Object

The inside sleeve contains extremely strange pictures of seemingly normal scenarios with this bizarre object sitting there, unnoticed.
2. Which concert was found blotched when being edited for film?

Answer: Madison Square Garden

The movie "The Song Remains The Same" was made partly from remaining concert footage and partly from re-enacted shots that the band did to simulate their onstage performance.
3. John Paul Jones is the stage name of John Carrico.

Answer: False

John Baldwin is JPJ's birth-name, not John Carrico.
4. In total how many songs are there on the first four Led Zeppelin albums?

Answer: 36

"Led Zeppelin" = 9; "Led Zeppelin II" = 9; "Led Zeppelin III" = 10 and "Led Zeppelin IV" (Untitled)= 8. 9+9+10+8=36
5. How does Led Zeppelin's seventh album "Presence" differ from the albums before it?

Answer: It has no accoustic guitar or keyboard.

Oddly enough there are no accoustic songs on "Presence" and it's a pity, because in general, those are some of the band's greatest songs.
6. What year was the money from the band's hotel stolen?

Answer: 1973

During the concert at Madison Square Garden of '73 someone broke into the locker that held the money for their return flight home and hotel rooms. The robbery made news but the villain was never caught.
7. Which member of the band was MOST into the "Lord Of The Rings"?

Answer: Robert Plant

This love for the books influenced many songs such as "Ramble On" and "The Battle Of Evermore".
8. On the Earls Court footage from the Led Zeppelin DVD (the one with the red sand) do any of the first three songs ("Going To California", "That's The Way" and "Bron Y Aur Stomp") include drumming?

Answer: Yes

If you pay attention there is a bit of drumming in "Bron Y Aur Stomp" but the other two are just Plant, Page and Jones.
9. The Song "All My Love" is dedicated to John Bonham's son Jason.

Answer: False

"All My Love" is supposidely dedicated to Robert Plant's boy Karac who died from a respiratory virus shortly after Plant and his wife were in a serious car accident. At this time it was questionable whether or not the band would keep going. It was a very troubling time, especially for Robert, he was still recovering from his traumatic car crash on Rhodes and it was only two years after that his son Karac died.
10. Which of these statements is true?

Answer: Zeppelin III was criticized by the Church as being 'satanic', that's why 'IV' has no written name.

Led Zeppelin III was horribly judged by the Church. Jimmy Page decided that Led Zeppelin 'IV' would not have the band's name or the album's name anywhere on the jacket. This was to see if the music could sell by itself. Of course Atlantic was extremely upset at this idea but they eventually caved in. The album has no name that you can actually pronounce or write, the official title is the four symbols on the front of the CD. Apparently the music sold as you will see below.
Zeppelin is rightfully in the Guiness Book of Records holding the record for the highest selling of a single album by a UK band; the record setting album is Led Zeppelin IV the runners-up are 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' and 'The Wall', both by Pink Floyd (another great band!).
The rumour of their name is that Keith Moon, drummer for The Who, said the band would fly like a lead zeppelin, so that's what they called themselves! (The tale is also attributed to The Who's bassist John Entwhistle.)Another story is that Keith Moon had an idea for a dream super-group consisting of himself, Jimmy Page and a few others which he was going call Led Zeppelin. I cannot testify to the accuract of either of these.
Although some won't agree, Led Zeppelin actually have nine studio albums because even though CODA is a compilation of unreleased songs that were recorded earlier on and put together it is still considered to be a studio album.
