"Stay' was actually written by Maurice Williams in 1953 as a 15 year old. He hit paydirt with his group the Zodiacs in 1960 and took the song to the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for one week in the fall that year. The recording is generally recognized as the shortest single ever to reach number one on the Billboard charts at a time of 1 minute, 37 seconds.

A notable cover of the song was by The Four Seasons in 1964.
2. This number one 1961 hit by Dion focused on a girl who couldn't commit. What was her name?

Dion actually had songs about all the girls listed, but "Runaround Sue" was his number one hit from 1961, spending two weeks at the top of the charts in the fall that year and also got to number 11 on the U.K. charts. It also went Top 10 in six other countries around the globe. The song was written by John Stewart who was then a member of The Kingston Trio.
