Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "My libido's split on me, give me some good old lobotomy..."

Answer: All The Madmen

This song was inspired by David Bowie's elder half-brother, Terry, who had mental problems and later committed suicide.
2. "She sucked my dormant will"

Answer: She Shook Me Cold

3. "I searched for form and land, For years and years I roamed"

Answer: The Man Who Sold The World

Copied by Nirvana- not very well. Kurt Cobain could at least have learnt the right words!
4. "The world held his hand, Gave their pledge, So he told them his scheme for a..."

Answer: Saviour Machine

This song is about a scientist with an interesting idea to save the world.
5. "There's no room for anger, We're all very small (Oh, by jingo)"

Answer: After All

This song is the quietest on the album, and a contrast to the other songs, which tend to be roughly classed as an early form of heavy metal.
6. "Some say the view is crazy but you may adopt another point of view"

Answer: Black Country Rock

"Heroes" isn't from this album. It's from 'Heroes', surprisingly.
7. "I count the corpses on my left, I find I'm not so tidy"

Answer: Running Gun Blues

This seems to have been inspired by a current event of the time- the Vietnam War.
8. "How many songs are on 'The Man Who Sold The World'?"

Answer: 9

Quite a short album, but not as short as 'Station To Station', which only had six tracks.
9. "Which band covered 'The Man Who Sold The World' in their famous 'Unplugged in New York' session?"

Answer: Nirvana

They took away some of the folk-rock sound of the original, in favour of their own grungey sound.
10. "Zane, zane, zane. Ouvre ma chien."

Answer: All The Madmen

Certainly mad. Does anyone know what it means? Something about a dog, I think...
