Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Blue Oyster Cult

Answer: "Godzilla"

From the 1977 album "Spectres", this track was released as a single but failed to find chart success, although it now probably one of the band's better known songs. The song features Eric Bloom speaking Japanese as tribute to his, and guitarist Buck Dharma's, love of Japanese horror movies; it was played by baseball team New York Yankees when Hideki "Godzilla" Matsui came out to bat during his time with the team, 2003-2009.
2. Barry Blue

Answer: "Dancin' (On A Saturday Night)"

Barry Blue's real name was Barry Green and he recorded several tracks under his real name in the early 1970s. Why a change of colour brought him success is one of life's mysteries but it worked as he hit number two with this track in 1973 in UK and Australia, following it up with three more UK top 20 hits.

He went on to become a respected song writer, working with a variety of artists from Vera Lynn to The Wanted.
3. Indigo Girls

Answer: "Shame On You"

The duo of Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, better known as The Indigo Girls, released this track from their 1997 album "Shaming of the Sun" and had chart success with both the single and the album which was nominated for the 1998 Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album, losing out to "Time Out Of Mind" by Bob Dylan.
4. Blue October

Answer: "Hate Me"

Blue October's 2006 album, "Foiled" was their breakthrough album and this track, which was one of five released from the album was their breakthrough single, charting in USA, but also gaining publicity in Canada and Europe too.
5. The Moody Blues

Answer: "Question"

The Moody Blues hit number one in UK with their 1964 hit, "Go Now" but had to wait another six years for their next top ten hit, when "Question", from 1970s "A Question of Balance" album reached number two. In 2018, the band were inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an honour accepted by Graeme Edge, who has been with the band since 1964 and Justin Hayward and John Lodge, both of whom have been "Moodies" since 1966.
6. John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers

Answer: "I'm Your Witchdoctor"

The Bluesbreakers have seen an amazing line up of talent through the years. Former members, apart from the incredible John Mayall himself, have included Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood, Jack Bruce, Aynsley Dunbar, John McVie, Walter Trout and Mick Taylor.

This track from 1965, features Clapton on guitar, was produced by Jimmy Page and was covered by Motorhead on their 1980 EP "Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers."
7. Deep Blue Something

8. Blues Traveler

Answer: "Hook"

9. Shocking Blue

Answer: "Venus"

Shocking Blue were a Dutch band who sung in English and had minor success in their homeland in the late 1960s before achieving global success with "Venus" in 1970, hitting number one in many countries, including USA and Australia. Although they never managed to match this success, they did continue to have hits in Netherlands and France up until the mid 70s, achieving a further four number one records in the latter.
