Yikes, I remember when L.L. Bean's was just a small house in Freeport! Now, it's well, huge. There are no locks on the doors at the main store in downtown Freeport, it's open 24/7!

Answer: Chester Greenwood

He was only 15 when he invented earmuffs. He came up with the idea while ice skating. A little fur and some wire and voila! Dec 21 is Chester Greewnood Day in Farmington, Maine. He had other patents and his invention created jobs for the people of Farmington.
