Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who wrote II Corinthians according to the first verse in the KJV?

Answer: Paul

Paul, formerly known as Saul, was one of the greatest Christians of all times. He started out a hater of Christ and of his followers. However, after being blinded on the road to Damascus he miraculously changed and he himself became a follower of Christ. (see Acts chapter 9)
2. What did the author talk a lot about in chapter 2 of the KJV?

Answer: forgiving others

Paul explains that because Christ forgives us no matter what we've done, than we should forgive others. Forgiving is not for the benefit of the person you forgive, but more so it's for your benefit because it causes a lot of turmoil to walk around forever carrying a grudge.
3. Where did the author say we get our sufficiency from in verse 3:5 of the KJV?

Answer: God

Paul is saying that God is all we need. This is because God is faithful and just and will take care of all our other needs so we don't have to worry about that.
4. In verse 4:8 of the KJV, the author said, "we are perplexed but not _________" What are the missing words?

Answer: in despair

The dictionary definition of despair is "the complete loss or absence of hope". Paul is saying that while we may not understand, we always have hope.
5. How do "we" walk according to verse 5:7 of the KJV?

Answer: by faith not by sight

This verse is saying that we may not always understand why God wants us to do what He wants us to do. However, by faith we trust Him and we do it.
6. What did the author say we should "cleanse ourselves from" in verse 7:1 of the KJV?

Answer: "all filthiness of the flesh and spirit"

II Corinthians 7:1 (KJV) says, "Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

This means that not only do we have to clean our bodies but our spirits. That is we need to ask for forgiveness for our sins and ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit everyday.
7. Who did the author mention by name in verse 8:6 of the KJV?

Answer: Titus

Titus was a friend of Paul's who, in another book of the Bible called Titus, is a recipient of one of Paul's letters. In Titus 1:4 Paul refers to Titus as "mine own son after the common faith". This does not mean Titus is Paul's son, but more likely that Paul is the one who led Titus to Christ.
8. What does God love, according to verse 9:7?

Answer: a cheerful giver

II Corinthians 9:7 says, " Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." If you are going to give (or help someone) with a bad attitude it is better not to give or help at all.
9. How many times was the author shipwrecked, according to verse 11:25 of the KJV?

Answer: 3

II Corinthians 11:25 says, "Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep." Paul was also put in prison on more than one occasion. No matter what happened to him, his faith held strong in the Lord.
10. When is the author strong, according to verse 12:10 of the KJV?

Answer: "when he is weak"

II Corinthians 12:10 says, "Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong." Paul says when he is weak he is strong because when one is weak that is often when they turn to God the most. And the Bible states in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
