Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. He was the father of Mahalaleel.

Answer: Who was Cainan?

Genesis 5:12 All of these men are in the genealogy of the nation of Israel. It traces all the way back to Adam and Eve. Genealogies were important to the Israelites. They were used to determine family tribe, inheritance of the land and national duties.
2. His descendants were cursed because he looked at his naked father.

Answer: Who was Ham?

Genesis 9:22 In this passage the scriptures talk about what happened to Noah's family after leaving the ark. Noah became a farmer and planted a vineyard. After testing the fruits of his labor he became a little drunk and very sleepy. His son was apparently a little bit nosey.
3. It was the first out of the ark.

Answer: What was a raven?

Genesis 8:7 After the waters of the great flood abated Noah sent a raven out of the ark to determine if it was safe to depart. He also sent a dove out that (on its second trip) returned with an olive branch.
4. This man's son built Babel.

Answer: Who was Cush?

Genesis 10:8, 10 In this part of scripture the Bible talks about the establishment of human government and the man who became the first human king. In their arrogance the men of the city decided to build a tower that would reach to heaven.
5. The amount of righteous people that the Lord wouldn't destroy Sodom for.

Answer: What was 10?

Genesis 18:32 What we have here has to be the bravest man who ever lived. He had the nerve to bargain with God. The city of Sodom had become so wicked that God was going to destroy it. Abraham tried to talk God into sparing the city because his nephew Lot lived there. Unfortunately the city was destroyed. Lot and his daughters were the only ones to survive. Lot's wife became a pillar of the community, I mean a pillar of salt.
6. She was Jacob's daughter.

Answer: Who was Dinah?

Genesis 30:21 After fathering 10 (out of an eventual 12) sons, Jacob finally had a daughter. Jacob, I have one thing to say to you. You da man!
7. The place where Rebekah's nurse was buried.

Answer: What was Allon Bachuth?

Genesis 35:8 This is the only time this person (Rebekah's nurse Deborah) is mentioned in the whole Bible. I am wondering what the significance is. Any ideas are welcome. I believe that everything in the Bible is there for a reason.

Kiriath Jearim was the place where the Israelites entered the promised land, Baal Perezim is a location of one of David's victories over the Philistines, and Ramoth-Gilead was a city located in the tribe of Dan's inheritance.
8. A son of Jacob.

Answer: Who was Ephraim?

Genesis 48:5 Eleazar was a son of Aaron, I made up the name Jochshan and Jonathan was a son of King Saul. Ephraim was a son of Joseph by birth but was adopted by Jacob as his own son along with his brother Manasseh.
9. Where Jacob settled in Egypt.

Answer: Where was Goshen?

Genesis 47:4. Canaan was where he came from, Shechem was a city in Canaan, and Succoth was a place along the way by the Red Sea.
10. Where Jacob was buried.

Answer: What is Machpelah?

Genesis 50:13 Like his ancestors Jacob wanted to be buried in the promised land in the family tomb. Goshen is the region in Egypt where Jacob lived, Abel Mizraim was where they stopped to mourn the death of Jacob and I made up Macah.
