Answer: Casey Stengel

Stengel was a very famous manager with the New York Yankees. He took the pinstripes to 10 World Series in a 12-season stretch. In 1962, Casey took over the brand new Mets and would be greeted with four consecutive 100-loss seasons. The Mets retired his number 37 in 1970, then Gil Hodges' 14 followed in 1972, then the number 41 of Tom Seaver in 1988.
2. Who was the first player to win a MVP Award in both the American and National Leagues?

Answer: Frank Robinson

After winning the NL Rookie of the Year Award with the Reds in 1956, Robinson won the NL MVP in 1961. After the Reds traded Frank to the Orioles for the 1966 season, Frank batted for the Triple Crown and won the AL MVP.
3. Who was the first left-handed batter in baseball history to bat over .400 in a season?

Answer: Jesse Burkett

Burkett was a Cleveland Spider of the National League in 1895 and 1896, and played with the great Cy Young. Jesse batted .405 and .410, respectively, to win the NL batting titles in both seasons. He won another batting title with his .376 average in 1901 with the Cardinals.

Martin also singled home Hank Bauer in the bottom of the ninth inning for a walk-off series-winning hit. The Dodgers out-hit the Yankees 64-56, but lacked with runs on the scoreboard.

Seaver and Terry played on the 1967 New York Mets before Terry retired. Seaver would hook up with Clemens on the 1986 Red Sox team, famous for the Bill Buckner incident in the World Series. Ironically, the Red Sox were defeated by the Mets in that one. Seaver went on to win three Cy Young awards in 1969, 1973, and 1975.

Answer: Stan Musial

Cobb played from 1905-1928. He retired with 5856 total bases. Hall of Famer Tris Speaker was the next to top the 5000-hit mark with 5104 bases. Ruth, who retired in 1935, surpassed Speaker and retired with 5793. Musial was the first player in history to reach 6000, retiring in 1963 with 6134 total bases.

He broke Cobb's record in 1962. Willie Mays and Hank Aaron later topped the 6000-mark also.
