Had to google it to see what it was!

I've not been in touch with many new releases these past 3 years. Maybe been to the cinema 6 times in that time...

Don't get to watch much at home either! Which is why this particular thread doesn't get any attention these days. I will return and write about my 'list' though.

Just a little heads up, nasty. "Gangs Of New York" is exceptionally violent. And I had a very hard time believing Cameron Diaz as a lovely little Irish immigrant. I realize it's called acting, but still...

This is a film I wish I could unsee, and would never watch again. That doesn't mean it isn't well-made -- it's Scorsese, after all, and I love Marty. But this was wayyyyy too over the top for me.

But I'm looking forward to your review! Still, I thought I should warn you. Nothing had prepared me for what a gore fest this turned into.

Gangs of New York. It was better than I had expected it to be but kind of spoiled by the lame final 20 minutes or so.

Yes I really need to get to these. I'll post the first one later I think.

I sorta envy those who watch movies without getting bored. I can’t follow a lot of movies; too visual. Also, the actors and actresses mumble at times depending what the scene is.

Ohhh, I can't stand it when I have to constantly adjust the volume because I can't hear a word people are saying or I am being blown out of the room.

I'm a pretty big movie buff, Jaz, but I have also seen my share of movies that have bored me to tears. Can't think of any of them right off the top of my head but they are out there. I guess there is good and bad in just about everything.

What's your view of Logan?

Jaz, I think that question is evidently for you. Even so, if you don't mind me butting in, what is a Logan exactly? Is that a movie?

Question is for nasty_liar and yes Logan is a film I believe related to the X Men Wolverine Franchise.

I'm not familiar with "Logan," either. We need to get Nasty back in here!

Mumbling isn't a problem at the cinema but when watching at home I usually watch movies with the subtitles on so that I don't miss anything important. That's my tip for the day.

I saw Logan and really enjoyed it! Patrick Stewart stealing the show.

I recently tried to watch the latest Bond movie, Spectre, but got bored halfway through! Will try to finish watching it.

Yep, that's why I stopped going to the movies. At least I can control the volume at home and rewind if I miss some crucial mumbling!

And... Nasty is back!

I use subtitles, too. It's how I know that when you kill a zombie, once and for all, on Walking Dead, the noise that is made is a "squelch."

Now Blu-Ray DVDS? They drive me nuts. Apparently, Blu-Ray means "Every time we think something exciting is about to happen, we will adjust your volume to melt your face off."

I bought lots of TV series I had missed and now wanted to watch on DVD, to include some Blu-Ray. Now, I sit with my remote in my hand, trying to anticipate when to hit that volume reduction. "They" think cars speeding off, trains, planes, walking outside, anything deemed exciting means 'crank up that volume.'" Music being interjected into a scene is also cause for extreme volume amping.
