YIKES! Here I've been working on an ordering quiz thinking it fulfilled the January painting requirement, only to find it should be a classification quiz. There are two quizzes listed as counting, neither of which has so much as crossed my mind since I created them. Oh, dear!

I've been feeling lousy for the past couple weeks so, for instance, I never did get the frame for the December painting. But, it never occurred to me I was as utterly befuddled as all that.

Of course it's foolish, but I get very anxious with a quiz in the cue.

This afternoon I had a scare - took a fall, something that hasn't happened in a long time. I don't exactly know what happened, but I found myself flat on my back with the rollator turned over on my legs. Also whacked the side of my head on the front of the bureau. Fortunately, Sis heard the ruckus and came in to investigate. She got the rollator righted, which I was far from sure I could do myself. She stayed to make sure I got back up on my feet. She said my head wasn't bleeding, though it sure felt like it was! The incident left me pretty shaken, but apparently no harm was done, thank Heaven!

All appears to be well. No egg has developed, and indeed the side of my head is only mildly sore to the touch. No new aches have developed since the fall either. Gosh, but I was lucky!

Oh, dear, Cat!

I'm glad that you are O.K., but terrible that you took a spill. I've always wondered about rollators. To me, they seem less safe than 'regular' walkers, because of the wheels, but I know lots of people prefer them, because the walking is more natural.

There are definitely pros and cons to both. On the whole, I prefer the rollator. It's heavier and sturdier than the walking frame, but you do have to watch out for the wheels.

Something cute happened this afternoon. Dad had to go to a routine doctor's visit. Just as he was leaving, he called out to let everyone in the house know he was on his way, like he always does. Sis called in acknowledgement. And, just at that same exact moment, Priscilla meowed, as if she were also saying, "Okay, see you later."

Over the past couple weeks I've been reading several of Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar books. Last night, though, I started the first book in Philip Jose Farmer's River World series, "To your scattered bodies go".

The beginning of the book was intriguing, but with about an hour of listening time to go, it's palling just a bit. Unless something really spectacular happens, I may not continue with the series. In any case, just now it seems unlikely I'll plow through the remaining four books. Of course, that may change.

Unsurprisingly, I'm into the second book of the Riverworld series, "The Fabulous Riverboat". The characters aren't that attractive and the premise is already somewhat tired, but you know me - a book has to be absolutely dreadful for me to give up on it entirely. And this book isn't really all that bad.

Finished _The Fabulous Riverboat_ and moved on to _The Dark design_, just barely. I fell asleep about fifteen minutes in. That's all right. I needed the sleep. Besides, there's no rush. Also reading this week's issue of _The Economist_.

I think for most, The Economist is more likely to put them asleep than the stories of Riverworld... ha-ha

(I've never read either, so I may be wrong.)

Finished _The Magic Labyrinth_, fourth and final book in the Riverworld series. This series is supposed to be some kind of masterpiece. I guess a masterpiece is in the eye of the beholder.

"The Economist" can be a bit serious, but I enjoy it. A weekly can be hard to keep up with though.

Last night, I was looking up details on Jimmy Dorsey's 1941 hit "Green Eyes". Both it and the song issued on the flip side, "Maria Elena", were recorded on March Nineteenth, 1941. "Wow," I thought, "Mom's second birthday. Wait till I tell her." Then it hit me that she's not here for me to tell. I didn't cry, but it did hurt, being completely happy for a moment and then remembering.
