Thanks, guys!

I had to leave the Authoring Kitchen because I was getting hungry!

Note to self: Only work in the Authoring Kitchen with a snack ready to hand.

I, Cat, who am usually a day late and a dollar short, just submitted my quiz for the August painting!

Am I awake, or having a particularly vivid dream? Only time will tell.

If you want to see a photo of Dad, zap on over to my Facebook profile, where the photo taken the evening of his birthday now appears as my cover photo:

I'm on the right in the picture, in the blue dress and glasses. Sis (Honore) is on Dad's other side, with the lovely red hair.

Your dad's looking good! And healthy! Is that one of your new dresses?

Thanks, guys. Overall he definitely is doing better, though he didn't sleep well last night. Rats! I thought he'd gotten on a roll. Maybe things will settle down again tonight.

Yes, Mira, that is one of my new dresses. Very simple, pull on dress, made of some soft, jersey-type fabric, so quite comfortable. Both Chris and Marilee told me how pretty they thought it was, which just goes to show that something doesn't have to be fancy and complicated to be attractive.

Zipping right along...

Congratulations! You have been awarded the Sous Chef Challenge Mini Badge. You can view it in your profile.

Requirements: Awarded to a player who creates at least 25 dishes in The Author's Kitchen mini-game.

Speaking of food, this afternoon I fulfilled my inner four-year-old with my snack, graham crackers and milk. Sometimes the simple things are the best.

A good one, Cat. Not too easy. A bit of thought involved, but not headache-inducing. Several places where more than one word can fit, but workable.

Thanks very much!

It's frustrating. In some thread there was a discussion of fun fill it, and Kyle said something about it becoming obvious that, say, the noun goes here and the adjective goes here, and that's what gave me the idea of doing one with all verbs, or all adjectives and adverbs or whatnot. I wanted to go to the thread and thank him for inspiring me to try the format, but I can't find the thread. :(

I agree with Postie, that there were several places where more than one word would fit. That's one of the things which made it fun for me as I definitely couldn't work it in order but had to find places where only a particular word of a grouping would fit and slowly keep eliminating the choices that way.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm quite fond of Snowball and her hapless human.

Here's my latest, which earned me this month's painting in record time:

link https://www.funtrivia.com/quiz/forchildren/number-bonds-to-10-413361.html

The story behind this is sort of interesting. When Sis was little she loved the Ladybird books (from Britain), but of course she stopped collecting them in her teens. Well, sometime in the winter I was browsing through BARD (the digital download site for the Library of Congress' Talking Books program, if I haven't mentioned it before) and happened to come across “Ladybird Addition and Subtraction”. Intrigued, I downloaded it. It’s very up-to-date, Third Millennium and all that, designed specifically to be an audio book. Anyhow, almost as soon as it started the wheels began to turn in my mind. Quizzes.. Surely, there’s scope here for quizzes. The section on number bonds to ten was perfect. I even started a match game, but stalled over having to provide info for ten questions. Fast forward to Monday and the requirements for this month’s painting. Bingo! Fun fill it was perfect. The game could be set up as, to all intents and purposes, a match and yet with only one info section. Oh, I am so pleased with this format. At first it struck me as just a novelty, but it’s really versatile and useful.
