Toby Keith was born in 1961, in Clinton, Oklahoma, USA. He began his music career in the early 1980s by forming a band with his friends called the Easy Money Band in July 1984. They played local venues around Oklahoma, gradually building experience and recognition.

His single, 'As Good As I Once Was', which was the second one from his album 'Honkytonk University', reached number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in July 2005. It held the top spot for six consecutive weeks. The album also hit number one on the Top Country Albums chart.
