Racers didn't stop moving as they checked into the Pit Stop on Scarborough, Ontario's lakeshore at the end of Leg 6. Instead, they opened their next clue and proceeded by taxi to A1 Bait Inc. There, they'd have to dig through creepy crawlies, taking a crate of six hundred worms and dividing them, by hand, into fifty provided tubs. After this, they had to sift through another box-- this one of nightcrawlers-- and provide a total count to a worker to get their next clue.

Additionally, the Desjardins Assist made an appearance in this task, allowing the team who collected it to skip the worm sort and proceed directly to the nightcrawler count. Michele and Matteo managed to claim this one.

Leaving A1 Bait, racers had to locate the Oshawa Executive Airport and sign up for a charter flight that would take them to Lambton County the next morning. As soon as they touched down in Southwestern Ontario the next morning, they had to hop into a provided vehicle and make their way to Lake Huron's Grand Bend Beach. Once there, they had to search the sand with a metal detector for what turned out to be a little, metal oil rig.

Trading the pumpjack for a clue, racers could then proceed to the Oil Museum of Canada in Oil Springs, seventy kilometres south. If they could assemble a rudimentary spring pole drilling rig there, they could get another clue.

Answer: Cricket

Completing the oil rig build, racers had to compete in the race's second Face Off, and this one would take them to Mike Weir Park in Sarnia. Here, in a head-to-head match, team members had to hit five bowls each, using them to score against targets on the cricket pitch. The team that managed to score the most points received their next clue while the losing team went into the next head-to-head and, naturally the last team remaining waited out a mandatory penalty before continuing racing.

Chayla and Chyana, who also took the penalty in Leg 6's Face Off, had to wait out ten minutes before resuming the course.

Racers headed out from the Face Off with their clue and a bottle of maple syrup they were instructed to hand off the sweet treat at the Pür & Simple restaurant in Sarnia, leaving it with the Sarnia Brigade baseball team seated inside.

After the breakfast handoff, racers had to drive onward to Purdy's Fish Market because, while they started the leg with bait, they inevitably had to catch some fish. For this last task of the day, racers had to grab walleye from inside a 60,000L tank and then carry them to be released in the nearby St. Clair River. If they could transport ten by hand, they'd get one more clue for the leg.

Answer: Chayla and Chyana

Racers who handled their fish for the last task of the leg were told to drive to the seventh Pit Stop in an effort to avoid certain elimination, and to do that, they had to navigate two kilometres around the harbour to Point Lands Park. There, they could run on foot to Jon and the mat waiting at the Great Lakes Monument.

Ameen and Surria, who held a lead throughout the leg, took their first win in this stretch of the race, awarding the mother-son team with an Expedia trip for two to Hanoi, Vietnam (with a $15,000 CAD added cash prize). Rounding out the leg in last were Chayla and Chyana, unable to pull out of the Face Off tailspin quite like they were able in Scarborough. This time they were eliminated.

Leg 8 took teams out of Ontario at long last, requiring that they head to Toronto International Airport before taking a trip to the Maritimes. This flight sent them twelve hundred kilometres to Halifax, Nova Scotia whereupon they could locate waiting vehicles in the airport parking lot and drive another couple hundred kilometres to the town of Digby, located on the Bay of Fundy. Here, in the Scallop Capital of the World, they would be able to find their next clue on the Fisherman's Wharf.

Much to teams' surprise, two teams would be eliminated at the end of this leg, and they wouldn't know until they ripped open that wharf clue.

Reaching Digby's Wharf and opening the Road Block clue, teams not only found themselves shocked by the double elimination news, but one racer needed to be 'shocked' for the task, and in this one, the chosen team member had to do some shucking. To do this, teams joined locals on the docks and learned how to properly shuck scallops from their shells. Once they cleaned out three pounds of scallops, they could deliver them to Birch Street Seafoods in Digby and package them into three one-pound bags to collect their next clue.

Liz, Felipe, Michele, Sacha, Eamon, and Ameen completed this task.

Answer: Sailboat

After the first Road Block, teams had to drive to the Bay Ferries Terminal in Digby and take the Fundy Rose across to the city of Saint John, New Brunswick, a two-plus hour trip. Once they arrived, they'd have to find their way to the Royal Kennebeccasis Yacht Club to locate their next clue box and a sponsored task.

For this challenge, racers had to create a replica model of a sailboat bearing the colours and design of Café William, but this creation needed to be made entirely out of stained glass. If they could work together to solder the pieces together and prop it up properly, they'd get their next clue.

Leaving the Yacht Club, racers had to proceed to the Crave Lounge & Bar in Saint John to complete a Road Block-- this one being done by the racer who did not complete the scallop task. Almost cheekily, racers were given the prompt of 'who will get the drop on this challenge?', but it had nothing to do with coffee like the preceding task.

For this one, Tina, Sébastien, Surria, Bec, Matteo, and Clara needed to step behind the turntables in a nightclub and perform a sequence of tracks and effects to get their next clue. If the local DJ acknowledged a perfect set, they could keep racing to one final task for the day.

Answer: Two

To close out the day, teams had to make their way to the Strescon NB Office & Precast Plant outside Saint John to build a concrete wall, placing spacers, rebar, and mesh into a mold before pouring a structurally-sound piece. If they could do this, they'd be directed to the eighth Pit Stop waiting at the St. Martins Sea Caves, fifty kilometres away.

Tina and Liz won this leg, their third of the race, to take an Expedia prize trip to Sydney, Australia (including $15,000 CAD cash as a reward). The end of the leg, and the back of the pack, proved to be the narrowest finish though Michele and Matteo and Ameen and Surria stepped on the mat within a second of one another. It sent Ameen and Surria out of the race in fifth while Felipe and Clara arrived, shortly after, in sixth.
