Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first task teams encountered in Leg 3 involved collecting which of these off calves at the Falkland Stampede rodeo?

Answer: Ribbons

Teams needed to depart from the Okanagan Valley at the start of Leg 3, and ripping open their clues on the shores of Lake Okanagan, they were told to drive themselves to the Falkland Stampede Grounds, one of Canada's oldest rodeos. Outside, they'd find their clue box and, potentially, win the Desjardins Assist.

At this spot, racers needed to participate in a calf scramble, an activity that had them heading into the bullring to collect matching ribbons from the tails of two calves. The team that collected the Assist, Dana and Cordelia, only needed to collect one ribbon.
2. In an "Amazing Race Canada" first, the third leg saw teams completing a Road Block in transit. They completed it in which location?

Answer: On a train

Racers handed in their ribbons for a clue that sent them to the railway station in Kamloops, B.C., and from there, they needed to take a ride aboard the Rocky Mountaineer, a trip that would take them four hundred forty kilometres across the border, through the Rockies, to Jasper, Alberta.

Partway along this route, with just over three hours to go in their ride, the racers were surprised to find that a clue box had appeared in their train car with no warning. Racers who opened these clue envelopes found a new type of Road Block-- a Travelling Road Block-- which needed to be completed while the teams were still on the train. If they didn't finish in time for their arrival in Jasper, they would have to serve a penalty.

For this task, one member of each team needed to 'keep their train of thought' by memorizing the dinner menu from the Rocky Mountaineer's dining car. If they could remember these meals and serve four of them to patrons, they could get their next clue.

Dana, Sébastien, Chyana, Bec, Felipe, Matteo, Nova, Surria, and Liz found this task out. Felipe used the Express Pass to skip this one and avoid the penalty while Dana, the first to attempt the task, was unable to complete it.
3. The 'Plant It' and 'Box It' Detours encountered in Jasper, Alberta both contributed to repairs needed in support of what natural disaster?

Answer: Wildfires

Once teams left the train in Jasper they needed to drive themselves to Pine Bungalows to find their waiting Detour task (opening the following morning), a choice between 'Plant It' and 'Box It', and in both cases they had to complete errands to help repair Jasper National Park recover from the 2024 wildfires.

In 'Plant It', racers drove to the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge's golf course to plant five Douglas fir trees, replacing those lost in the fire while in 'Box It', teams drove to the Jasper Information Center and constructed garden boxes for locals still living in temporary housing sites. Each Detour only had five stations, so they had to choose carefully to be able to do the one they wanted.

Keshia and Nova used their Express Pass to skip the 'Plant It' Detour option.
4. In Leg 3, one team became victims of the Blind Double Pass. Which team was it?

Answer: Chayla and Chyana

Racers left the Detour and had to head to Old Fort Point to find the Blind Double Pass waiting for them, and there, selected teams needed to wait for someone to pass them before they could continue racing. Only Chayla and Chyana were placed on the board, having been put there, anonymously, by Keshia and Nova.

Following this bothersome race mechanic, teams could complete a second Road Block for this leg wherein the racer who did not complete the earlier Road Block on the Rocky Mountaineer would have to rappel one hundred feet down the side of the Morro Slabs, overlooking the Athabasca River, then climb back up to open it. Sacha, Tina, Eamon, Clara, Keshia, Michele, Ameen, Cordelia, and Chayla had to participate for this one.
5. Which team was eliminated from the race upon checking into the third Pit Stop in Jasper, Alberta?

Answer: Dana and Cordelia

Once teams finished off their second Road Block for this lengthy leg across the western provinces, they could drive themselves twenty kilometres to the Maligne Overlook to find Jon on the grounds. Here, Sacha and Sébastien held onto a very narrow lead to take their first win over Eamon and Bec, winning themselves an Expedia-provided trip to Malta and $10,000 CAD in spending money.

At the back of the pack, Passed team Chayla and Chyana battled it out against penalized Dana and Cordelia, and while the mother and daughter arrived in eighth, the ninety-minute time penalty dropped them to last, eliminating them from the competition.
6. For most of the fourth leg of the race (taking teams through Montreal), racers had to carry which of these with them?

Answer: Beer cases

Leaving the Edmonton area at the start of Leg 4, racers had to proceed to the airport to fly themselves across the country from Alberta to Quebec, proceeding to Montreal. Upon landing, they could hop into taxis and proceed northward into Laval to locate the Serres Cléroux Garden Centre, the site of their first formal task for this leg.

For this, racers needed to scour a million square feet of greenhouse space to hunt for sixteen specific plants in a provided list. If they could get all of them, they would get their next clue and a Molson Canadian 2-4 pack that could be loaded up with necessary items throughout the course of the leg. This first task was also the site at which Keshia and Nova got their hands on the Desjardins Assist, allowing them to search for only eight of the requisite items.
7. Which unexpected race mechanic did teams encounter in Montreal in Leg 4?

Answer: Intersection

Heading out from Laval, teams needed to bring themselves (and their beer cases) to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts where, outside, they located the Intersection, a race mechanic that would force consenting teams to work in pairs until further notice. Teams paired up as they arrived at the museum, by and large, with Eamon and Bec joining with Ameen and Surria, Michele and Matteo connected with Keshia and Nova, Sacha and Sébastien linked with Chayla and Chyana, and Tina and Liz were stuck pairing with Felipe and Clara at the back of the pack.
8. What prompt were racers faced with when they had to choose a partner for their disco-themed Road Block in Montreal (in Leg 4)?

Answer: 'Who wants to join the club?'

Ripping open their Intersection clues, racers were surprised to be paired up only to need to embark on a Road Block, meaning that the selected racers from each joined team needed to complete the next task together. For this, everyone had to proceed down Rue Crescent to Club Electric Avenue where the participants had to get on the dance floor and 'join the club' by learning the choreography to a disco routine and performing it with a dance troupe.

Bec, Surria, Michele, Keshia, Chyana, Sacha, Liz, and Felipe were selected to complete this task. Once complete, each team receive a pair of pint glasses to stow into their beer cases and they were allowed to split from being intersected.
9. Of those who still had one, which team utilized their Express Pass to skip the Detour in Montreal?

Answer: Tina and Liz

Leaving the club, teams had to branch out into Montreal with one of two Detour options headed in different directions in Griffintown, closer to the waterfront, and to much surprise, the clues were presented to them entirely in French.

Teams who selected 'Shout Opa' proceeded to Petros Taverna, a Greek restaurant, where they had to assemble a thirty-piece puzzle based on the image of a broken Greek plate. Teams who selected 'Say Cheese' instead visited the Musée Imaginarium where, after choosing one of the given displays, they had to identify differences in a photo elsewhere in the museum and return the room back to its normal state. Once they took a selfie with another museum-goer in their fixed room, they'd get their next clue.

In both instances, completion of the task resulted in teams receiving a beer tap handle to stow in their beer cases. Tina and Liz, who showed up to 'Say Opa' to find it full, skipped the 'Say Cheese' task with their Express Pass, leaving only one in the race to be used the following leg.
10. Which team was last to reach the Pit Stop in Laval at the end of Leg 4?

Answer: Keshia and Nova

Before teams could finish out their fourth leg, they had to take their Molson Canadian two-four and head to Peel Pub for one final task, using their pint glasses (and two more) to fill up and serve four glasses of beer to waiting patrons. Once they served their table they would be able to get one last clue.

To close out the leg, racers had to take a cab back over to Laval to find the next Pit Stop at the pond at Centre de la Nature de Laval. This time, Eamon and Bec managed to eke out a win, taking the lead position back after a brief break in Leg 3 and claiming a trip for two from Expedia sending them to Dubrovnik, Croatia (with $10,000 CAD of spending money).

Although Keshia and Nova arrived at the mat in eighth (and last) place, Jon surprised the friends with a non-elimination announcement, meaning they would proceed into Leg 5 with a Speed Bump to overcome.
