Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Dropping in from the Feast Layer above, DK starts the Forbidden Layer in which location?

Answer: Shuffling Shaft

It should become quite apparent that despite the the thematic eccentricities of some of the earlier Layers, the Forbidden Layer is something else entirely, leading DK and Pauline into a world that seems to have a bit of a mind of its own. In addition to being placed within almost impenetrable, otherworldly terrain, they'll soon find that the Layer flips some of its terrain from safe to unsafe almost at will, doing so at particular cadences. One minute, DK could be traversing Neptunium and the next it could be electrified.
2. Generally, the Fractones found throughout the Forbidden Layer are encouraging of DK and Pauline's progress through their location.

Answer: False

Contrary to many of those in the earlier Layers in the adventure, the Fractones of the Forbidden Layer are a bit more hesitant to help-- in some cases they outright tell DK to leave and not come back, perhaps in a sense of reverse psychology. What you may find is that some of these isolated Fractones who appear to place themselves in the way can be of unexpected use. Remember, you can break pieces off the Fractones and they will regenerate, even if it's not their intent to be helpful tools of progress.
3. The only Fossil that can be found in the Forbidden Layer is an alt color version of which of these?

Answer: Frog

As with other smaller Layers, the Fossil collection is a bit restrictive in the Forbidden Layer, and here, DK can only find one type of Fossil-- the smaller Frog (alt color). The Frog was previously seen in the Tempest Layer, hundreds of Sublayers back in the adventure.

There are thirty Frog Fossils in the Forbidden Layer, and with them you can buy four different cosmetic fur dyes for DK at a Styletone near Go-No-Further Gate.
4. The Securitones throughout the Layer will let you pass if you pay with which of these?

Answer: Gold

One of the big catches of the Forbidden Layer is that actual, massive Fractone edifices, known as Securitones, will block the way, indicating that the path forward is completely off-limits. That'd be a lie, however, as they're willing to give a little bit of access for a price.

This starts with 2,000 gold at the first Securitone, but escalates to 9,999 gold by the last one. In each case, they'll alter the environment just enough to make traversal of massive, deadly gaps a possibility.
5. How many Concrete Towers are found along the path through the Layer?

Answer: Three

Though there are a handful of off-shoot floating islands and crystal blocks that appear throughout the ether that is the Forbidden Layer, there are three Concrete Towers that rise from the void, each with their own checkpoints and Securitones. It helps, as well, that each one has Banandium Gems and goodies to locate, even if they may come with their own obstacles. And of course, the Fractones that appear at the top of each will hesitate to be helpful.

It's in DK's best interest to leverage them anyways.
6. What colour is Passage Stone?

Answer: Blue

When Securitones let DK pass through they won't create bridges themselves. Instead, they'll create a new atmosphere that allows projectiles to form arching bridges, not unlike the rainbow substance in the Resort Layer. With this in mind, DK can lob materials into the void that he can subsequently break off, throw, and make more bridges. With this method, even as the platforms float around, he can get from one end of the Layer (via the Concrete Towers) to the other.

The Passage Stone itself, created via this method, is blue, not unlike the Fractones.
7. Which Fractone does NOT appear in the Forbidden Layer?

Answer: Fragmentone

Besides the Securitones and various miscellaneous Fractones, all of the Forbidden Layer Fractones will be situated at the far end of the Layer at the Go-No-Further Gate, the last outpost before DK and Pauline reach the site of the Banandium Root. Here, they can find the sole Getaway of the Layer with the waiting Architectone, a Styletone for Fossil sales, the Stufftone, a Chiptone for a Banandium Gem, and a Smashintone there to track destruction quantities of Passage Stone.
8. Void King will indicate that the only way to awaken the Banandium Root is by using which of these?

Answer: Pauline's singing

Go-No-Further Gate will mark the final barrier between DK, Pauline, and the Banandium Root, and there, the Fractones will indicate that a surface dweller passed through looking for the same thing, intruding and never coming back out. They'll break in and the pulsing root will be right there on the distant frontier.

Sure enough, Void King will be present, waiting for the Banandium Root to grant his wish, but it appears to be taking a nap. All he needs is for Pauline to sing and wake it up, and that's something she refuses to do.
9. The fight against Void King will restrict DK from using which of these?

Answer: Bananza Powers

Void King, in an effort to make use of Pauline's abilities, will crank up an amplifier and start blasting at the duo, forcing them to avoid using any Bananza powers whatsoever as they cross the Go-No-Further Frontier trying to take him down. This will mean creating paths with Passage Stones and hurling projectiles before crossing the platforms on foot, destroying a trio of Terravoiders left somewhat exposed in the throes of the battle. If they can get through these, they can beat up Void King and bring him down.
10. Who, of these, reveals themselves to be the last foe to face en route to the Banandium Root?

Answer: King K. Rool

With the Void King defeated, Pauline believes she and DK can finally have their wishes to go home and get a whole lot of bananas come true, but Void King lets loose one last surprise before he perishes, turning DK to void and forcing Pauline to sing to bring him back to his normal self, just like when he freed her from being the Odd Rock back in the Lagoon Layer. Doing so, however, will result in the Banandium Root-- or at least what was thought to be the root-- waking up and revealing itself to be King K. Rool, trapped there for ages with his Kremling Krew.

He'll descend into the sinkhole nearby bound for the Planet Core and DK and Pauline will have no choice but to follow.
