Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Arriving in the Planet Core, many of the game's enemies will be revealed to be members of the Kremling Krew. Kritters are actually which of these Void Company foes?

Answer: Crockoid

Once K. Rool is freed from his spot on the Forbidden Layer, DK and Pauline will land in the Planet Core to find that his Kremling Krew has his back. What this means is that while there are a number of familiar-looking enemies throughout the Planet Core, they're actually faces from past "Donkey Kong" games. Crockoids are actually the burly Kritters-- basic foes from "Donkey Kong Country". Similarly, Buzzoids are Zingers and Squeeloids are Kabooms.
2. Travel between Sublayers in the Planet Core is performed, each time, via which means?

Answer: Mine carts

From Kremling Kourtyard to Fractone Fort and onward to Necky Skyway and beyond, the Sublayers of the Planet Core are dangerous but also very distant from one another, and hopping into these mine carts is absolutely necessary if not to cross the vast gaps. Fortunately, many of these rail lines are clear for use without any gaps and many will even reward DK with more gold. Very rarely, DK will receive projectiles on the cart course to use for various needs.
3. Sublayer 1603 is which of the following?

Answer: Klaptrap Krossing

Before dropping down in the Planet Core, the Klaptraps of the Kremling Krew were Munchoids. They serve the same function at this depth, eating away at different materials while DK tries to cross them. In the Klaptrap Krossing Sublayer, many of the platforms are Switcheroo Goo, so DK will need to use the Munchoids to create his path.

It's a short Sublayer, especially up against the next Sublayer, Kritter Krevasse, which is perhaps the second-largest of the Layer.
4. Which past boss returns for a rematch in the Planet Core?

Answer: Stompenclomper

Arriving on Sublayer 1605, the Kremling Kamp, DK will pass through a gauntlet of Zingers before landing in a massive arena filled with gold roots, and this is one of the most ideal spots for a battle. This is the location where K. Stompenclomper will enter the fray, having upgraded since appearing as Stompenclomper in the Canyon Layer.

This time, the boss' trusty feet will transform on occasion, sometimes being a tough metal and sometimes being made of lava. Using Bananzas to do away with these elements may be a good strategy to open the path onward.
5. Besides Fractone Fort, there is one other Fractone settlement in the Planet Core. What is its name?

Answer: Fractone Cradle

Located on Sublayer 1606, Fractone Cradle is the final place of refuge and, like Fractone Fort before it, it contains a Styletone, a Stufftone, a Chiptone, and an Architectone. Aside from being a convenient spot for resources, Fractone Cradle is home to a number of Fossils including the largest in the Layer-- the 8-Bit DK.

There are more Fossils in this Layer than are necessary to buy everything you want from the Styletone.
6. How many Sublayers are there in the Planet Core?

Answer: Ten

DK and Pauline land in the Planet Core in the Kremling Kourtyard on Sublayer 1600 and they descend through the region all the way to Sublayer 1609, evidently the heart of the core, at Climactic Cliff. Along the way, it's likely that DK will need to utilize every Bananza and levelled-up technique at his disposal before knocking a large iron ball out of the way and proceeding to the final battle.

The Planet Core has more Sublayers than any other Layer in the game.
7. K. Rool's aim, with the Banandium Root, is to turn everything to what?

Answer: Rot

DK and Pauline, finally finding the real Banandium Root, will arrive to find K. Rool already preparing to make use of his wish. It'll be a critical moment to arrive because as soon as they do, he'll grab his weapons and commence a fight, aiming to make everything literally rotten and then feast on what's left.

Much of this battle will involve avoiding or using rot to fight against the Kremling king, but realistically, you'll solve the problem with your fists, as with most of the bosses in the adventure.
8. DK and Pauline, upon defeating K. Rool, will be able to proceed to the planet's surface on which of these?

Answer: A pillar of bananas

As soon as K. Rool is brought down, DK and Pauline will be able to free the Banandium Root and commit to their wishes. While Pauline wishes to go home, DK will wish for endless bananas, and sure enough, both of them will get what they want, getting thrust through the planet on a massive pillar of bananas.

Kredits will roll as they head to the surface, but those would be a lie. Instead, K. Rool will emerge from unconsciousness and make chase during the ascent, rushing for the exit.
9. Pauline's home is revealed to be what cosmopolitan location?

Answer: New Donk City

When the banana pillar reaches the surface out the other end of the planet from where DK started, it'll let him and Pauline emerge into New Donk City, previously seen in in "Super Mario Odyssey", revealed to be Pauline's home. The return isn't a happy one though since King K. Rool will climb to the top of City Hall and, with the Banandium Root reclaimed and in hand, he'll wish for power, vowing to rot the planet to its core.

With that, DK and Pauline have to rush to City Hall, and a massive boxing ring built there, while avoiding the rapidly-rising rot in the streets.
10. The final battle against K. Rool will end with the Banandium Root being reclaimed by DK and Pauline. Who will get their wish?

Answer: DK

Once the fight against K. Rool, King of Rot, comes to an end, the villain will be cast out of the boxing ring next to City Hall and New Donk City will be saved. It gives the leading duo the opportunity to, at last, get their greatest dreams to come true. Pauline's dream, as she explains, will be to sing for everyone in New Donk City, but she realizes that she can keep the beat on her own. Instead, she lets DK have his wish before he dives back into the sinkhole and returns to Ingot Isle.

The adventure will continue for both of them only three months later.
