Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first boss battle of the game, with Peekabruiser, is encountered in Ingot Isle

Answer: False

Peekabruiser appears on Sublayer 102 at the bottom arena of Lagoon Layer (specifically in Chimp Channel). This larger foe, summoned from a device used by Grumpy Kong, takes shape when a number of obnoxious Peekaboopoids latch on and create a hard, outer shell to take on DK and Pauline. To beat it, there are a few options: punching hard, hitting it in Bananza form, or tossing Boom Rocks at its shell. In any case, once its health is diminished, the route to Hilltop Layer will be opened up.

Peekabruiser returns, as Re-Peekabruiser, in Landfill Layer later on.
2. Which VoidCo, though encountered in Lagoon Layer, is actually fought in Canyon Layer?

Answer: Grumpy Kong

Grumpy Kong is responsible for bringing forth the Peekabruiser via VoidCo's proprietary tools at the end of the Lagoon Layer, but he reappears as soon as Donkey Kong climbs up into Big-Stretch Peak in Canyon Layer, just above the Refinery's sealed entrance. Taking matters into his own hands this time, he'll form a massive rock-adorned mech with the aim to do away with DK in one heavy blow, but because many of his pieces shear away with well-placed punches, bringing him down to ground level isn't too hard.
3. Mad Mixer sits in the Banandium Refinery, and here, Donkey Kong fights using which of these?

Answer: Mine cart

Canyon Layer is filled with convenient mine cart tracks, and many of these form loops around the extensive underground Banandium Refinery on Sublayer 301, where Donkey Kong can head after Grumpy Kong is defeated. Down here, it's a fairly linear course, and at the end of it, right in the middle of the area, he'll have to fire Boom Rocks at the insane Mad Mixer to stop Void Company from wreaking havoc on the local industry. You'll have to blast away at the machine's outer shell to do damage, but enough hits will destroy it...for now.

Mad Mixer returns as the Mad Mixer Remix in the Feast Layer.
4. Which boss guards the Canyon Layer Sinkhole?

Answer: Stompenclomper

Concluding Donkey Kong's trip to the Canyon Layer will be a descent into Sublayer 302 and a visit to the arena in which he'll need to face Stompenclomper, a Stompoid-like enemy who uses its massive feat to rush around the battlefield and crush foes. Just like with regular Stompoids as encountered throughout the Layer, the goal is to break into the creature's rock-hard outer layer and punch at the golden interior to damage it. Using the Bananza Form certainly helps this along.
5. Poppy Kong uses which of these to make herself invisible?

Answer: Perfume

The Director of intelligence for VoidCo, Poppy Kong is fought for the first time in the Cooling Tower of Freezer Layer (though she's encountered a couple of times before this in earlier Layers). While Grumpy Kong brings brute force to his fights, Poppy instead focuses on being stealthy, camouflaging herself with a stealth perfume made by Void Company in an effort to evade Donkey Kong's damaging strikes. If DK can see through the stealth, the battle may actually be easier than the one against Grumpy Kong.

She'll be fought a second time in Radiance Layer.
6. Inflammonite seems to be capable of creating both fire and ice.

Answer: True

Located on Sublayer 502, Inflammonite is the final boss of the Freezer Layer and depending on the state he's in, he'll be able to create one or the other element, both key facets of this hot-and-cold destination. In his fully-powered form, Inflammonite will be on fire and capable of leaving trails of lava in the paths he creates in the battle arena.

When he's cooled off with blocks of ice and snow, he'll chill out to create fragile ice paths in the air. Transforming with the Zebra Bananza will give DK the ability to give chase and knock him out once and for all.
7. Abracajabya, found in the Forest Layer, will make which of these areas his battleground when he's encountered?

Answer: Bramblenest Bog

The Forest Layer is blighted with unexpected poison flooding and thorny plants when DK and Pauline drop into it, and these elements prove problematic for the local economy (tourism!), so the trip through the Layer will take them deep into the murky underbelly beneath the Eggshell Hotel, bringing them before the VoidCo-created Abracajabya.

The battle here, though it starts above the Sinkhole in Bramblenest Bog, will branch out (literally) into the surrounding area, forcing DK to traverse narrow vines, dodge attacks, and avoid falling into the poison pools below.
8. The Sinister Blusterwing, before being corrupted by a VoidCo Mind-Bender Mask, was known as which of these by the locals of Tempest Layer?

Answer: Singing Blusterwing

A beautiful bird with blue plumage, the Singing Blusterwing would normally be a friendly creature. Capable of controlling the weather, locals refer to it as a kind bird who likes to eat bananas, but with VoidCo coming through, it's been controlled for evil. DK and Pauline will need to fight it three times throughout the Tempest Layer, each time with increasing difficulty. To defeat it, they need to toss turf at its wings to weigh it down, not unlike the Batteroids found in the region.

They can save the creature after the third battle before continuing the descent into the planet.
9. Void Kong appears in numerous locations in the game. Which is not one in which he's fought?

Answer: Groove Layer

Void King proves to be one of the more cautious and more resilient enemies to fight in the game. He appears early on as the leader of Void Company, but you don't fight him for the first time until you reach The Junction, prompting a fight that spans multiple Layers of the game thus far (primarily the Hilltop Layer and the Lagoon Layer).

He'll continue heading downward to the Planet Core, but the big fight against him will finally take place in the Forbidden Layer, where you'll need to avoid using any Bananza Powers to bring him down.

He can and will be defeated though, opening the door to someone worse.
10. You'll fight King K. Rool three times at the end of the game, and for the final time he'll take on which of these titles?

Answer: King of Rot

After battling against K. Rool in the Planet Core and preventing him from grabbing the Banandium Root for himself, DK and Pauline will quickly discover he's not so easy to kill. What happens next will be a mad rush to the planet's surface on a rising pillar of bananas (also an unorthodox fight against K. Rool) and then a final battle against the boss next to City Hall in New Donk City, Pauline's hometown.

This final battle, however, will see K. Rool finally using his wish to turn the world to rot, empowering him and giving him the name K. Rool, King of Rot, in advance of a messy, last showdown in a boxing ring.
