Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where does the Executioner's Chariot boss fight take place?

Answer: Huntsman's Copse

In embarking on a completely optional side path, the player can make their way over a sturdy stone bridge, fight a lot of enemies, cross over a dilapidated bridge with care, kill a red phantom, then they'll have made it to the boss.
2. Most boss fights tell the player to start by walking up to a really big, scary looking thing and attacking it until it dies. If the player engages this fight with that mentality, will they be able to beat the Executioner's Chariot?

Answer: No

This is a gimmick boss fight, rare across this game for being so. The boss will initially be inaccessible, as the player will find the giant horse riding up and down in a patrol throughout the Undead Purgatory tower. The player must first subdue the horse and stop the chariot before they can actually fight the boss. To do this, players must slowly and safely weave in and out of the chariot's patrol path as they go to the top of the tower.

Here, a lever can be pulled which activates a portcullis, and this portcullis will be closing right in the line of the chariot's pathing.

This will cause the chariot to completely wipe out, killing the rider and allowing for a clean one-on-one with the giant horse to end the fight.
3. The Executioner has no weaknesses or resistances to speak of, but the horse driving the chariot does. What is the giant horse weak to?

Answer: Fire

The horse harbors a 20% weakness to Fire as well as a 15% weakness to Lightning, which are decent enough to be noticeable. It does not strongly resist any melee attacking types though, so players will not need the elements in order to deal good damage here.
4. Having trouble constantly getting run over by the Chariot in its blazing patrol path? You might be surprised to know that, despite getting trampled on by a giant horse, the player is not taking any Physical damage whatsoever here. What element of damage is the horse exclusively capable of dealing?

Answer: Dark

The horse emits a huge shadowy aura and has an attack where it just breathes a trail of dark magic at the player. Despite appearing to be physical damage, the horse is only capable of doing Dark. As such, the player would largely benefit from the Dark Quartz Ring to reduce the damage received from the horse in anyway.
5. Along the way bobbing and weaving through the chariot's patrol path, the player will get swarmed by skeletons. The player can kill these skeletons as many times as they'd like, the chariot can even run them over and "kill" them, but they'll continue to rise. Is it possible to permanently kill these skeletons?

Answer: Yes

There are two necromancers hiding in nooks along the path of the chariot's patrol. Killing these necromancers will ensure the skeletons can't rise again. This can be important, as the skeletons can become serious hindrances in trying to travel the length of the Undead Purgatory without getting steamrolled by the chariot.
6. Upon defeating the Executioner's Chariot, it will drop Executioner's Chariot Soul. This can grant one of two things to the player, the first being the Chariot Lance. This lance represents the lore behind the sadistic, torturous Executioner himself perfectly, by inflicting which status on hit?

Answer: Bleed

The Bleed is actually fairly significant, though it comes at the cost of this lance having the lowest base damage of any lance in the entire game. It is still a solid weapon, but it competes heavily with the Grand Lance which can be looted entirely for free at Forest of Fallen Giants, a beginning-game area. One gnarly strategy the player could try is to use both in Powerstance. If they do this, infusing the Grand Lance with Bleed would allow the player to rack up Blood Loss very, very efficiently.
7. The Executioner's Chariot Soul can also give the Shield Crossbow, arguably the single most unique weapon in the entire game. As the title suggests, this is a shield with a built in crossbow function. What is this shield's physical absorption stat?

Answer: 100%

Statistically, this weapon appears loaded. Being able to threaten ranged damage and reliably block physical attacks, at first glance, almost seems overpowered. How could anyone possibly deal with such a combination, without resorting to one's own ranged damage?

Unfortunately, this shield flies a bit too close to the sun in trying to handle two roles at once. In order to use it to block, the player must raise and fire it even if they didn't intend to attack and only just wanted to block. Firing it consumes stamina which makes it very difficult to block more than one or two hits at a time, a problem not shared by any other shield in the game of this weight calibur.

As such, this is a fun, novel weapon, but it makes for a poor shield and an unexciting weapon for general ranged use.
8. The Executioner's Chariot can later be fought as a mini-boss, only this time it is just the horse without the Executioner or the actual Chariot. Where does this take place?

Answer: Drangleic Castle

Just past the soul-activated giant statue and a couple manikins in Central Drangleic Castle is where the horse can be fought. When slain, it drops the Gower's Ring of Protection, a ring of niche usefulness that protects the player from damage taken from behind.
9. On New Game Plus, the Executioner's Chariot can now drop a ring in addition to its Boss Soul. What ring does it drop here?

Answer: Chloranthy Ring

The Chloranthy Ring received here is the +2 version, the strongest of its kind. This ring grants the player extra stamina regeneration speed, making it very universally useful. As such, this boss is a popular target for Bonfire Ascetics.
10. After finishing this boss fight, the player earns the opportunity to join the Brotherhood of Blood covenant in speaking to Titchy Gren. Advancing this covenant is difficult and, in some cases can be impossible. What must the player do to progress this covenant?

Answer: Kill summoned Blue Sentinels

This covenant is meant to essentially be the rival covenant of the Blue Sentinels. The Blue Sentinels covenant is intended to help Way of Blue members who get invaded by other players. Brotherhood of Blood's job is to disrupt and kill Blue Sentinels. The way this covenant is progressed can be complicated, so bear with me here.

If a player part of the Way of Blue covenant gets invaded, another, third player who is part of the Blue Sentinels might get summoned into the WoB's world to defend them. If this happens, an eligible Brotherhood of Blood player may now get auto-summoned into that world.

The Brotherhood of Blood player's objective is to kill the Blue Sentinel. It is important to note killing the host without killing the Blue Sentinel will not make covenant progress, so the BoB player should intentionally let the host live and go for the Blue Sentinel. If the host dies, all players get kicked out of their world. So, hilariously, the BoB player, despite seeming to be allied to the original invader, actually does not want the invasion to be successful.

Because of this, it is not uncommon for the original invader and the Brotherhood of Blood player to fight each other on sight, rather than the host or Blue Sentinel they are each aiming for. Despite seeming to have similar objectives that don't cross with one another, if one of them succeeds in their goal, it actually does impede the other.
