Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The adventure commences because who has taken it upon themselves to capture the Sprixies?

Answer: Bowser

At the very start of the adventure, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad manage to find a glass pipe, repair it, and allow the Green Sprixie Princess to come through to the Mushroom Kingdom. The catch is that Bowser is already chasing her, and when he, too, emerges from the pipe to bottle her up and take her back to the Sprixie Kingdom, it means going forth to free these helpful creatures from captivity.

The Princesses will be bottled up at each main castle, but there will be other Sprixies throughout the game to provide their aid.
2. Which of these, possessed by some Sprixies, allows Mario to have a more focused view of any given level?

Answer: Binoculars

What you'll find when you dive into the game is that the Sprixie Princesses aren't the only Sprixies throughout "Super Mario 3D World"; you'll find a lot of them flying around, ready to provide aid where necessary to help Mario and the team. Part of this aid will be by providing better views; in a number of courses, Sprixies will be found, often at high vantage points, with binoculars that allow you to see further along the course with greater clarity, sometimes revealing distant collectibles and pointing in the direction of the goal flag.
3. Some Sprixies operate slot machines. Some of these can win you up to how many coins?

Answer: 777

If you complete a number of levels in any given World, you'll reveal a Lucky House-- essentially a big slot machine you can enter to play a game of chance with a group of Sprixies. Inside, you'll find four large blocks you need to hit, stopping their rotation, and the amount of matches you get determines the amount of coins you receive. 0 matches will get you 10 coins as a consolation prize, but matching all four will get you a grand prize of 777 coins, or 7 or 8 extra lives).
4. Saving Sprixie Princesses will allow you to travel between Worlds. By what means is this done?

Answer: By glass pipe

Once you save the first Sprixie Princess from Bowser in the first castle level (Bowser's Highway Showdown), the Green Sprixie Princess will do what she can to support Mario and make the path to World 2, taking out a hammer and repairing a glass pipe that'll send you onward to that destination. Each subsequent Sprixie Princess will do the same thing, making the path through the game mostly linear unless you can uncover secret passages between these Worlds (and they are out there!).
5. Which of these can you collect from Sprixie Huts?

Answer: Stamps

There's a Sprixie House in every World save for two (World Mushroom and World Flower), and when you find them on the map, they'll look a bit like circus tents. The truth is that they each contain one safe Sprixie who'll be guarding one of the many Stamps you can collect throughout the game. Though Stamps don't have much use with the Wii U message system no longer functioning, they are a unique collectable that goes towards any completionist's end-goal, and these easy gimmes aren't as taxing as the ones found in each level.
6. Which of these is not a colour of Sprixie Princess you'll encounter?

Answer: White

There are seven Sprixie Princesses to collect in the game, each of which will be found in a castle in Worlds 1 through 6 and World Castle. In order, these are the Green, Yellow, Blue, Orange, Purple, Light Blue, and Red Princesses. Collecting all seven doesn't mean the game is over though-- with enough Green Stars and progress made through these seven Worlds, Mario can unlock more to continue the adventure and find Bowser waiting at the very end.
7. Sprixies are also responsible for overseeing which of these unique level types throughout the game?

Answer: Mystery Houses

Shown on the map (and in their lobbies) as glass houses, Mystery Houses send Mario and pals into short, but sweet trials that have them facing enemies or racing against the clock to an end goal in quick succession, often resulting in many more Green Stars than in a typical level.

Although the Sprixies don't appear throughout these short courses, they do act as the gatekeeper from the lobby in much the same way they do in the Sprixie Houses.
8. The Sprixie Princesses are only (fully) freed when Mario defeats which boss?

Answer: Meowser

The third time you face Bowser will be in the final level of World Bowser, The Great Tower of Bowser Land, and there, you'll get the last opportunity to save all seven Sprixie Princesses from the big glass jar he imprisoned them in at the end of World Castle.

The fight here is a bit of a platforming puzzle as there's no direct way to fight Bowser directly. With the boss having used a Power Bell (to transform into Meowser) and consumed Double Cherries to create doubles of himself, it's just a matter of getting to the top of the tower to hit a POW Block a few times, defeat him once and for all, and reunite with the Sprixies at the goal pole.
9. To allow Mario and friends to continue past World Bowser, which of these will the Sprixie Princesses create?

Answer: Rocketship

Finishing the battle against Meowser at the end of World Bowser (in The Great Tower of Bowser Land) will set you up to have collected all captured Sprixie Princesses and finish off the adventure. But it doesn't really end there. Instead, the Princess' engineering capabilities can be put to their best use, allowing them to hand over a rocketship that Mario can use to proceed onwards to four additional Worlds, most of which rehash past stages or battles with further difficulties. You can catch the rocketship at the start of World 1, where they'll be waiting.
10. Do Sprixies return in the standalone "Mario" series title "Bowser's Fury"?

Answer: No

Though the "Bowser's Fury" campaign is inherently tied to "Super Mario Bros 3D World", being packaged with the game a fair bit of time after its original release (and bundling with it for Nintendo Switch), there are a lot of differences between the two games, one of which being that Bowser is only remade into the antagonist when he's transformed into Fury Bowser.

It's a short game that reiterates the cat throughline, but the Sprixies, their Kingdom saved in the previous game, don't make a reappearance in this one,
