3. Many types of whale are known to engage in which of the behaviors depicted in this photo?

Answer: Spy hopping

Although there is some disagreement between ocean biologists, they are thought to engage in this activity to increase their vision of something that has interested them. It is often seen during whale watching tours.
4. On which of the following continents would you most likely see water buffalo in the wild?

Answer: Asia

Wild water buffalos spend much of their days wallowing around in the muddy water of Asia's subtropical forests. The water buffalo has been domesticated and has been used in farming and for transportation for centuries.
5. Why do warthogs have warts?

Answer: They don't. They have protective areas of thickened skin.

Warthogs are one of the smartest and most adaptable of Africa's wildlife. Females live in groups with their young where they engage in grooming, babysitting, and taking care of the elderly or ill. The "warts" that give warthogs their names are protective bumps of thickened skin.

They store fat and they provide important protection from serious injury during the ritual fights to mate. Despite their appearance, in general, warthogs are gentle, loving animals.
6. What does it mean if I tell you that woolly monkeys have prehensile tails?

Answer: Their tails can be used for grasping.

Woolly monkeys make their homes in the rainforests of South America. They have a trusty prehensile tail that can be used to grasp branches as they climb. The woolly monkey lives in social groups of about twenty members that are dominated by an alpha male. Males spend their whole lives with the same group, but young females will leave when they reach adulthood to avoid inbreeding.
7. Where would you look if you were trying to find a wombat at his home?

Answer: Underground

Wombats make their homes in large underground burrows which can be up to 100ft. (30m) long. They are shy marsupials, known for their unusual pouches which open backwards. 8. The walrus is the largest mammal to make its home on the continent of Antarctica.

Answer: False

The blubber-laden walrus is perfectly adapted to the frigid weather of the Arctic Circle. it does not live in Antarctica. With weights that can reach 3,600 lbs, it is the largest member of the seal family. Adult males sport flamboyant tusks which can measure over a foot in length, and are actually elongated canine teeth.

These magnificent weapons are used to carve out breathing holes in the thick Arctic ice, to help pull its heavy body onto land, and as weapons in bloody mating competitions. The magnificent walrus feeds on clams, fish, and the occasional seal, which are obtained through diving expeditions at which the walrus is adept.
9. Why do many farmers hate weasels?

Answer: They raid chicken houses.

Many farmers do not like weasels because they are known to raid chicken houses and steal the eggs, and sometimes the chickens. But weasels also eat hundreds of mice every year. Mice and voles are their favorite food. As mice carry diseases and can destroy food crops, the carnivorous weasel is actually quite helpful. Found in Europe, Asia, and North America, the weasel is a wonderfully designed little hunter, which will often make its home in the burrow of an animal that it has killed.
10. The magnificent wolf often lives in packs where they practice communal hunting.

Answer: True

The wolf is a member of the wild dog family which includes the dingo and the coyote. The wolf is an excellent hunter and is believed by many scientists to have lived in more places on the planet than any other mammal except humans. The wolf usually lives in social packs, but this is not a hard and fast rule.

A single wolf will usually stick to hunting rabbits and raccoons while a pack of wolves will work together to bring down animals as large as moose, yaks, and caribou.
