Please Give Me Editor's Choice, Please! Quiz

When I wrote my first 99 quizzes, I begged the editors for the coveted thumb. Oh, but they didn't care! In celebration of my 100th quiz, I dare you to figure out the titles of ten of my best quizzes. Good luck!

Question 1 of 10
1. A quiz of mine I really liked writing was about wars all around the world, but in the For Children category. The quiz was perfect! It had a good amount of interesting information, and an average difficulty level, almost in the middle of For Children and History, making the quiz a good candidate for an Editor's Choice. The editors didn't think that way, but that's understandable, as it only was my thirteenth quiz. Anyway, which fractured Mumford & Sons song was the title of that quiz?

HUP LEASE ONE DOOR ER

Answer: (Two Words, 8+8 letters)
Question 2 of 10
2. When I finished writing this quiz, I knew I had hit a personal best, and that my work was outstanding. The editors, of course, didn't think as I did, and so I ended up with another ordinarily-rated quiz. It had well-written questions and big paragraphs of interesting information about Arab-Israeli wars, but it didn't do the trick. Which oxymoron is hiding in the following sentence?

PHI TIN FOUR PIECE

Answer: (Three Words, 8+3+5 letters)
Question 3 of 10
3. To the time I'm writing this, I've had a few sunnies in my quizzes, but this one definitely was the most successful. I woke up once to a very nice surprise: my quiz, about a funny movie starring Chris Tucker, had been ranked at 490 out of the more than 120,000 quizzes on this site, a pretty big deal for me at that time, since I was a newbie still! Well, if the rankings were so good, maybe an Editor's Choice was in place? We all know that didn't happen, so instead, could you help me figure out which movie was the inspiration for that quiz?

ROUX SHOWER

Answer: (Two Words, 4+4 letters)
Question 4 of 10
4. Talking about this quiz still brings me bad memories, but also makes me proud I overcame what was one of the most difficult stages of my life. As it turns out, I was involved in a severe case of unrequited love, which had me pretty depressed for a couple months, and ended my tear supply (really, there was a moment where no more tears came out, as hard as I tried). To help me get through this moment, I decided to make a playlist with some deep songs that talked about love, unrequited love, and other love-related topics. As that really helped me, I decided to write a quiz so all of those people around the world who feel or felt as I did know where to find comfort: in music! According to my quiz title, for whom was the quiz meant?

FUR THY BROGUE CAN HA TED

Answer: (Three Words, 3+3+13 letters)
Question 5 of 10
5. Using all of the inspiration that came from my unrequited love experience, I decided to focus on literature, specifically on quotes from some of the most prolific and famous authors there are, about love. My title was also the name of a 1956 best-selling single by Elvis Presley. Can you guess it?

HART BRAKE OR TELL

Answer: (Two Words, 10+5 letters)
Question 6 of 10
6. I like writing For Children quizzes because it gives you the possibility to write somewhat easy quizzes, without losing your touch. This quiz about a certain food involved words that contain "zz" in them, but what was so special was that every clue was related to this food. Sadly, the editors didn't see the same I saw in this quiz, and again, I was left without the sacred thumb! Which Italian food was the theme of this quiz?

PETE ZSA

Answer: (One Word, 5 letters)
Question 7 of 10
7. "Everything Looks Bad If You Remember It" was the title of a rather painful quiz to write, and it was about soccer. Can't find the connection? Let me tell you some more. My country has failed, World Cup after World Cup, to get through the round of 16 stage, disappointing us fans more and more. And just when you think nothing worse can happen after being eliminated from our own World Cup in 1986, or being knocked out by Argentina twice, in a row (2006 and 2010), the Netherlands come and score two last-minute goals in 2014, leaving broken hearts all over the nation. Which country, which happens to be my birth country, has suffered all of these misfortunes?

MAKE SICK OH

Answer: (One Word, 6 letters)
Question 8 of 10
8. This website has many quizzes on foreign films that are recognized all over the world, but interestingly, there was one less represented country in the Movies category. So I decided to write a quiz about some films, all of which shared a special characteristic that is described in the title of the quiz. Can you name it?

MAIDEN KHAN ARE DUH

Answer: (Three Words, 4+2+6 letters)
Question 9 of 10
9. One day, while watching television, I became obsessed with a certain cartoon series about four kids who live in Colorado. I decided to write many quizzes about this series, and don't plan to stop any time soon. With the clue below, can you guess which show am I talking about?

SOUGHT PERK

Answer: (Two Words, 5+4 letters)
Question 10 of 10
10. If you look at my quizzes by date, you will notice that before this one, another special quiz was written, as a sort of warming exercise before my 100th quiz. You could find its name by going to a section of the site where players give quiz ideas to authors, and they take them to create many quizzes about many topics. I'm sure you can name this one. Can you?

ITCH SHOE MAE SHALL LOUNGE

Answer: (Three Words, 5+2+9 letters, no puctuation)

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

Answer: Hopeless Wanderer

"Hopeless Wanderer" was one of the singles included in Mumford & Sons' second studio album, "Babel", which was released in 2012. The album won the 2013 Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

In August 2013, a hilarious music video of the song, starring comedy actors Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman, Ed Helms and Will Forte as the members of the band, was released. I really suggest you watch it, not only because it's a great song, but the video will really make you laugh!

Answer: Fighting for Peace

Ah, that was a good piece of work! I had recently visited Israel, and felt inspired to write a quiz about all the conflicts that had involved this country since its creation, such as the Six-Day War, the Yom Kippur War and the multiple Gaza situations. I found the title to be a perfect match, as ever since these conflicts started, the world has supposedly tried to achieve peace in this area of the planet, but to get to it, more weapons are being created, and more military men are being sent to war, so where's the peace?!
ROUX SHOWER

Answer: Rush Hour

"Rush Hour" was released in 1998, starring Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, and it was directed by Brett Ratner. The film follows the story of a Hong Kong detective called Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan), who recovered valuable artwork from criminal Juntao. When the consul's daughter is kidnapped by Juntao, Lee is forced to pair with L.A.P.D. Detective Carter (Chris Tucker), who will make the whole mission difficult with his untimely comments and unhelpful (but still hilarious) attitude.

Answer: For The Brokenhearted

Yeah, it was a pretty rough time. I spent my time sleeping, crying, barely eating, and writing quizzes, and I found out writing had a therapeutical use! So I wrote a quiz in the 2000's Lyrics category, with some of the songs I used to heal my poor, broken heart.

Some of them were "All We Are" by OneRepublic, "The Scientist" by Coldplay, and "Here Without You" by 3 Doors Down. Those are what I call songs! Want to know which other songs I listened to overcome my depression? Play my quiz "For The Brokenhearted", it'll help!

Answer: Heartbreak Hotel

Oh boy, that was a good quiz! As a player described it (and I thank this player very much), the quiz was "clever and unusual, yet not too hard or esoteric". It was the perfect blend of originality, lots of information, and factualness. The quiz explored some of the most famous quotes on heartbreak from authors of the like of Margaret Atwood, Oscar Wilde, and Sylvia Plath.

Interestingly, the lyrics of the song were inspired by an article about a man who committed suicide, and it went on to become one of the most successful Elvis Presley songs of all time.
PETE ZSA

Answer: Pizza

"Pizza and Other Sizzling Words" was a fun quiz to write! I used the common theme of pizza, one of the most famous (and delicious) Italian foods ever, and connected it to some other "zz" words like "mozzarella", "dizziness" and "jazz". Even "blizzard" was there! Apparently, players found the quiz fun to play too, as it got sunnies.

Answer: Mexico

The broken hearts part is real. After the 2014 World Cup round of 16 match between the Netherlands and Mexico ended, if you walked through the streets, entered a restaurant, or went shopping that day, the feeling in the air was the same. Sad faces all over, there were tears as well! The Mexican soccer team had given hope to the whole nation, and in matter of five minutes, that hope was gone.

It's always the same. :(

Answer: Made in Canada

Films such as "Mon Oncle Antoine", "Dead Ringers" and "Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner" were featured among some of these Canadian films. As a matter of fact, all of the movies mentioned belonged to the "Top 10 Canadian Films of All Time" list, compiled in 2004 by the Toronto International Film Festival.

This one did surprisingly well with the ratings. Would a thumb be too much to ask?
9. One day, while watching television, I became obsessed with a certain cartoon series about four kids who live in Colorado. I decided to write many quizzes about this series, and don't plan to stop any time soon. With the clue below, can you guess which show am I talking about? SOUGHT PERK

Answer: South Park

With more than 16 seasons, "South Park" has become a show that provokes laughter all over the world. Like "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy", this series has a satirical way of criticizing society (although with some, or a lot, of bad words). It's still pretty funny! Someday, I'll get an Editor's Choice writing about "South Park". Someday.

Answer: Issue my Challenge

I have this fresh in my mind, especially because I wrote it less than a week ago. It was kind of like this quiz, as it was a memoir of all the challenges I had written so far, which happened to be a round number of 20, allowing me to write a 20-question quiz. Maybe for my 200th quiz anniversary, I'll be able to write 20 questions? Hopefully!
