Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Pizza is a delicious Italian dish made with cheese and tomato sauce, often with toppings like pepperoni. However, a piazza is not quite the same thing. What is a piazza?

Answer: An open city square

Piazza is a word used to describe an open city square, in which commonly two or more streets meet, allowing small businesses to sell their products there by taking advantage of the flow of people. These are common in Italy, but squares all over the world have their own names, sometimes similar (for example, a square in Spanish is called a "plaza").
2. Pizza can make whoever is eating it very thirsty, so it's a good idea to have something to drink when eating it. Which of these beverages is more likely to fizz?

Answer: Soda

Fizz when you open a soda is the result of carbonation. This process basically is explained by the fact that soda contains carbon dioxide, which is contained at a high pressure in the bottle or can. When you open the soda, you are releasing thousands of carbon dioxide molecules that used to be dissolved in the liquid, which is the source of the fizzy sound.
3. Pizza can be eaten while performing many activities, such as watching television, using the computer, or working on something, like a crossword, for example. What would you be solving if you're working on a crossword?

Answer: Puzzle

The first crossword puzzle was supposedly created in 1862, in the United States. One was published in "The New York Times" on that same year. However, Englishman Arthur Wynne is often credited as the inventor of the crossword puzzle, as the puzzle he published in 1913 in "The New York World" was very similar to crosswords today.
4. Pizza traditionally contains a delicious ingredient called mozzarella. What type of ingredient is this?

Answer: Cheese

Mozzarella cheese is an Italian cheese which is used in pizza, pasta, and salads, most notably the caprese salad, made of this cheese and fresh tomatoes with olive oil. Traditionally, the animal that produces the milk used to make the cheese is a buffalo, although cow milk is also used sometimes.
5. Eating too much pizza is not good for your body, as you'll soon start to feel sick, your head will start to hurt, you'll start seeing blurry and everything will spin around you. What is this feeling called?

Answer: Dizziness

Eating too much of anything can lead to stomach and headaches, and you may eventually get dizzy from it. In that case, you should sit down and in more serious cases, visit a doctor. When a person is feeling dizzy, it's usually described as vertigo.
6. Eating pizza while listening to music can be fun! Jazz music, for example, can be a good option to listen to while you eat this Italian dish. In which country was jazz music created?

Answer: United States

Jazz music was invented in the United States, in the Southern part of it, by the start of the 20th century. This musical genre usually has some kind of improvisation. Jazz has changed over the years, and it has had so many important figures, some of them being Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis and Duke Ellington.
7. Eating hot pizza in cold weather is something most of us would want to do. Which of these "b" words is most likely to happen during cold weather?

Answer: Blizzard

A blizzard is a snowstorm of great duration. One of the most famous blizzards happened in 1993; the Storm of the Century, also known as The Great Blizzard, made snow reach parts of the United States and Canada, after forming in the Gulf of Mexico. It killed many people, combined with tornadoes in Florida.
8. Even though meat pizza is delicious, some people can't eat it, like a hazzan, for example, as he follows a Kosher diet. To what religion is a hazzan related?

Answer: Judaism

In the Jewish religion, a hazzan is the person in charge of singing and leading the congregation in a temple during religious ceremonies. Some Jewish people follow a Kosher diet, which, among others, prohibits the mixture of cheese (or dairy in general) with meat, as it is considered unhealthy.
9. Eating pizza while doing your job might not be the best idea, as you can easily get distracted, although that would be hard for a paparazzo, since he can't take the time to eat pizza! What should he be doing instead?

Answer: Taking photographs

A paparazzo (paparazzi in the plural) is a celebrity photographer, who usually sneaks into their personal lives and takes pictures of the artists often when they're not ready. Paparazzi are sometimes common people who sell their pictures to magazines, or actually employed by magazines.
