Answer: Yes

Bruce Springsteen came to international attention with his hit album "Born To Run" in 1975. Elvis died (though many still do not believe it) in 1977.
2. Could F. D. Roosevelt have dined at a MacDonald's?

Answer: No

Roosevelt died in 1945. The first design for a MacDonald's was chalked out on a tennis court in 1948.
3. Could Louis Pasteur have drunk condensed milk?

Answer: Yes

Condensed milk was invented in 1856, Pasteur lived from 1822-1895; and he could, of course, have drunk pasteurized milk, too!
4. Could President Lincoln have sent a message in Morse code?

Answer: Yes

Morse code was first used between Washington and Baltimore in 1844. Morse had been working on the code since 1838. Lincoln died in 1865.
5. Did Queen Victoria listen to her favourite music on the radio?

Answer: No

On Christmas Eve 1906, Reginald Fessenden (Canadian) transmitted music from Brant Rock Massachussetts. The signal was received 300km. away. It was the first entertainment over the air. Would Her Majesty have been amused? Queen Victoria died in 1901.
6. Could President de Gaulle have flown on a commercial Concorde flight?

Answer: No

Concord came into commercial use in 1976, while President de Gaulle died in 1969.
7. Could Charles Dickens have written with a fountain pen?

Answer: No

Charles Dickens died in 1870. The modern fountain pen was invented in New York by Waterman in 1884.There had been several other attempts at creating one, but all failed due to leakages. The loss of a valuable contract due to a spillage inspired Waterman.
8. Could Shakespeare have read the works of Christopher Marlowe?

Answer: Yes

Christopher Marlowe was born in 1564 - the same year as Shakespeare. His best known dramas include "Dido, Queen of Carthage", "Tamburlaine" and "Edward II". He was apparently killed in a brawl at an inn in Deptford in 1593, though some claim that his death was faked.
9. Could Vincent van Gogh have phoned a friend?

Answer: Yes

The phone was invented in 1876, van Gogh died in 1890.
10. Could Queen Marie Antoinette have enjoyed a glass of Dom Perignon champagne?

Answer: No

Marie Antoinette was guillotined in 1793. The following year Moet et Chandon bought the lands of the former abbey at Hautevilliers, where the famous monk Dom Perignon had worked. They gave his name to their cuvee and also built a statue to him there.
