Nimoy starred alongside Zachary Quinto, who was cast as the new alternate universe Spock. "Darkness" was the second entry in the rebooted "Star Trek" movie franchise. "The Motion Picture" is the first entry in the original movie series which followed the cancelled TV series. "Search for Spock" was the third movie in the original movie series which followed his character's 'death' in the second installment "Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan". "The Undiscovered Country" was the last film in the original movie series and was released in 1991.
