Question 1 of 10
1. (2001) A 21st century man finds a time portal near the Brooklyn Bridge (of all places), and has fun going back to the 1870s and taking pictures. While there, he's spotted by Lord Mountbatten, who becomes intrigued with his camera and follows him back. Nearly overwhelmed by culture shock, he meets up with Kate McKay, who teaches him how to fit in. Of course they fall in love. Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. (2004) It's Harry's third year at Hogwarts, and he's got an awful lot to take care of. Not only does he have to save Buckbeak from the executioner and Sirius from the Dementors, but it turns out that he also has to save himself from having his soul sucked out by a Dementor's kiss. It's a good thing that he has Hermione and her time-turner that lets them jump back a couple of hours to get the job done properly. Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. (1985) While being pursued by terrorists, Marty jumps into the time machine that Dr. Emmet Brown made, and finds himself back in the year 1955. While there, he almost prevents his parents from getting together, and must find a way to ensure that they fall in love, to ensure his own eventual existence. Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. (1978) When Lex Luthor decides to up the value of his property holdings by destroying most of California, Lois Lane gets buried in the resultant earthquake. Unable to accept her death, our Man of Steel flies around the Earth fast enough to make it rotate backwards, causing time to run backwards and allowing him the breathing space he needs to rescue her.

Answer: (One Word)
Question 5 of 10
5. (1986) An alien probe is destroying Earth as it tries to locate a species of whale that has been extinct for years. Trying to return home in a Klingon spaceship, Captain Kirk and his crew decipher the code, and travel back in time to acquire a pair of humpback whales, so that they can repopulate the species, and save Earth from the probe. Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. (2001) It's 2029, and Astronaut Leo Davidson is on a routine mission when he gets caught in a space/time wormhole. He lands on a planet ruled by talking apes, where humans are uncommunicative, and treated as slaves. In his efforts to return home he finds, to his dismay, that he is already there. Instead of having landed on a different planet, he has really only landed at a different time. Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. (1981) A group of dwarfs have "borrowed" a map from the Supreme Being, which shows where all the time holes are. They're using this to go bouncing around looking for treasure, and meeting all kinds of strange and ridiculous characters along the way. Somehow poor Kevin has managed to be swept along with them on their travels. Hint

Answer: Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

Leonard Nimoy directed this delightful film, my personal favourite of the "Star Trek" series of movies. Leonard Nimoy, William Shatner, DeForest Kelley, James Doohan, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols and Walter Koenig starred.
6. (2001) It's 2029, and Astronaut Leo Davidson is on a routine mission when he gets caught in a space/time wormhole. Instead of having landed on a different planet, he has really only landed at a different time.

Answer: Planet of the Apes

When the original "Planet of the Apes" was released in 1968, it became almost a cult classic, with fans supporting 3 sequels. Tim Burton's 2001 remake was not nearly as successful. Mark Wahlberg, Tim Roth, Helena Bonham-Carter and Michael Clarke Duncan starred in the 2001 version.
7. (1981) A group of dwarfs have "borrowed" a map from the Supreme Being, which shows where all the time holes are. Answer: The Final Countdown

Don Taylor directed this little known movie that starred Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen, Katharine Ross, James Farantino and Charles Durning.
10. It's bonus question time. What kind of travel is featured in "Time Bandits", "Back to the Future", "The Time Machine", and many of these other wonderful movies?

Answer: time

Man has been fascinated with the concept of time travel for ages. Ever since H.G. Wells wrote "The Time Machine" in 1895, we have been grappling with the concept of how changing the past can alter our future. I love the line in "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home", when McCoy and Scotty are discussing the advisability of giving a 1986 engineer the formula for transparent aluminum. Scotty replies with words to the effect of "How do we know he didn't invent the thing?"
